Hi Everyone.
Quick post for you tonight. I saw this great sketch across at Case This Sketch
I love the diagonal element in this sketch and it took me a little while to work out what I was going to do. I realized that I had a new die from Altenew sitting on my craft table waiting for me to unwrap. I lay the garland on the diagonal and then die-cut it out of 80# Neenah Solar White. I then took a piece of DSP from the Altenew New Day card kit 6x6 papers and used that to die-cut out the garland again.
I then attached the top piece of the die-cut Neenah solar white 80# onto a piece of Neenah solar white 110# card base. I added some glue to the back of the floral die-cut piece and placed that onto the card base, being careful to put it into the original die cut area. All that was left was to adhere the bottom part of the die-cut Neenah solar white and add the sentiment and some glimmer pen to the flowers/leaves.
Here's my card:
A clean and simple card that is made more interesting by the inlaid die-cut and the added glimmer to the flowers and leaves. It would be easy to replicate, too.
On a personal note:
Where has the rain gone? Even the wetland is starting to feel like a dryland! We really need some rain and I'm hoping some arrives soon! The lack of rain means that our birdbath on the deck is one of the busiest places in the garden. We see the birds lining up to drink or bath. Drives the cats mad, but we love it :-)
It's that time of the year where we see the fawn's, too. Mom and her baby visited us the other day. I didn't want to go out on the deck as I didn't want to frighten them off, so I had to take a photo from the backdoor through the railings :-) But you can still see the lovely little spotted fawn and a very attentive mom. The feeder is just at the right height for the little one to start eating
Isn't that cute? What a sweetie :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Thanks, HJ. We FINALLY got rain yesterday and it was wonderful. Lou was out biking when it started to pour - he said it was so great to get wet.... Can't say I've heard him say that about getting caught in the rain before. Hugs, Jaydee
