Sending Sunshine for the Paper Players #354

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and I have a simple sketch to share with you.

There are so many ways to go with this sketch and I decided to use it for another card for my collection for Cards for Hospitalized Kids.  I wanted to make it graphic and bright and the stencil from the Hero Arts Monthly Card Kit for June was the perfect backdrop and then I stamped and cut two items from the kit as the focal elements.

Here's my card:

#MyMonthly Hero June 2017

I love the graphic elements from the stencil and the yellow blended background behind the tree and elephant really does remind me of the bright African afternoon sun :-)

As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration - you have to look no further than our fabulous design team cards.

On a personal note:

Summer is really here.  The last few days have been warm and somewhat humid - and I have loved every minute of it.   It's also been fairly quiet weather wise, for which we are very grateful!   We are finalizing the damage report for the storm we had a few weeks ago and have delayed doing the repairs until October so that we can minimize the damage to our beautiful plants during the removal and replacement of the roofing.

We are still enjoying our summer birds and I can never get enough of the gorgeous Orioles.

Our tail-less Catbird is very skittish - for obvious reasons!  But I did manage to capture a shot of her through the window the other day.  She/He was foraging around in the herb garden.  I really didn't doctor this photo... she really has no tail - as you can see in the photo below:

She's supposed to grow them back during the next molt - but she really is doing amazingly well without them!

And... just because I feel like it......   here's a photo of my velcro cat.   He is sitting on his favorite spot - the soft cushion on the back of the couch - he's made himself the perfect little nest there.

I'll be back with another card and some more photographs tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Goodness, I hadn't picked the background as a stencil. I thought it was paper. It's lovely! Perfect for the elephant - it gives a real tribal feel. Lovely sketch Jaydee: I loved working with it.

Such a great looking card added towards your collection for 'Cards for Hospitalized Kids'
Never get tired seeing your nature photos along with your furry family buddies as well.
Thank you

Jaydee this is an awesome sketch, I love ones like this that leave so much room for interpretation. Wonderful card you've made with it, too. Love the colors and the African vibe. Your bird photos are beautiful, but your little kitty cat is the sweetest! Great pic!
