Pretty Pansies for Watercooler Wednesday

Hi Everyone.  Happy Hump Day.

I have a quick post for you tonight and am playing along with a new challenge site (at least it is new to me!)  Watercooler Wednesday challenge.

The theme is:

Normally when I "do" something feminine, I use pink and purples.  However, I have friends who, like me, are not pink and purple girls.  So, I wanted to make sure that I made a card that works for THOSE friends.   My favorite color is blue... I love all shades of blue.... so, this card features blue :-)

I began with my new Altenew Pretty Pansies set.  I used the new Altenew blue inks for the multiple layered stamping of the pansies.   I also used the new garland die for my leaves.   The base of the card is a piece of Altenew woodgrain speciality paper which I softened with some beige ink.

To add a little more feminine touch, I added some glimmer pen to the middle of the pansies and then added some glitter enamel dots.  I adhered the garland (after using my blending spong and some green inks) to the card base and then popped up the flowers with some foam squares.   All that was left was to add the perfect sentiment.

Here's my card:
PrettyPansies (1 of 1)-2

How did I find this new challenge site?   Through the amazing dedicated volunteer work of the PaperPlayful.blogspot.com
team.  Every day a voluteer scours the internet to creates a list - with links - to challenges that start that day.  It's an amazing service they do and I wanted to give those ladies a "shout out".  I went there to look for some new challenges and that's where I found the Watercooler Wednesday challenge!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need  a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Thanks, Kelly. They really are amazing layered images aren't they? Altenew really did take flower stamps to a whole new level :-) I love that you use the Pansies in spring and in fall for Halloween. I hadn't thought about them for Halloween, that's a great idea. Thanks for the inspiration. :-) Ah.... the blog challenge list is on Paperplayful... it does sound a lot like our Paper Players! The ladies at Paperplayful really do an amazing thing for us craffters listing the challenges every day. I can't imagine how much work they put into it!

Thanks, HJ :-) and yes, I love blue, too... but generally don't make cards with blue flowers, but the pansies just seemed to scream "color me blue!". Hugs, jaydee

Terri, so glad to find there is another blue lover out there :-) I agree with you about Pansies, too. They are often overlooked but make such a beautiful statement in the garden with their smiling yellow faces :-)

I was working on a 50th anniversary card earlier today and wish had had this beautiful pansy stamp to complete it. Dark blue/purple pansies are the flower symbol for a 50th celebration. Your card is beautiful in every way, from the colours you chose to the arrangement and sentiment. Thanks so much for joining us at the Watercooler Wednesday challenge site, and now that you've found us, we hope you'll continue to return with great cards like this. Happy Stamping!

Wow Jaydee, this card is just gorgeous! I just love your pretty pansies in blue. I have to tell you that this stamped image looks very real! I always manage to get a container of pansies in the Spring and Fall. I love how they make me feel like warmer weather is coming in Spring and then I love to decorate with orange, black, and purple pansies for Halloween! Thank you for the new challenge (new to me too) and the shout out to your peers at Paper Players. I didn't know they did that!

Beautiful card, Jaydee. Love the blues and your coloring is amazing. Blue is my favorite color, but I find I seldom reach for it when making a card. I'll have to re-think that now with your inspiration. Have a great weekend.

Hi Jaydee, I love pansies and yours are simply beautiful. The layers of blue really makes them stand out against that beautiful green garland. Love the sentiment you chose. It completes the card perfectly. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

And you're right about all the volunteer work done by those keeping up the challenge lists at the Paper Playful blog. We appreciate their dedication a great deal.

Marina

So pretty - love the glimmer .
