Sketchy Floral for Paper Players #357
13 August 2017
Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
I have a very quick post for you tonight. It's almost midnight and I realized I haven't typed up my post for the Paper Players challenge tomorrow!
It's the awesome Sandy's turn to host our challenge this week and she has a color challenge for us
Shhhhhhh... don't tell Sandy... but Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral are two of my least favorite SU colors. SU has created some amazing colors... but these two are WAY outside of my comfort zone. I do love, Pear Pizzazz though.
So... in the spirit of challenges - I decided to take one of my least favorite colors and make that the primary color. Bermuda Bay. I then took my absolute least favorite color - Calypso Coral - and hid it. I know.. it's the chicken's way out.
Although these colors look amazing together - as you can see from the design from our very talented design team - they just don't run in my wheelhouse. However, they might very well fit into yours - and we would love to see what YOU do with them.
For my card, I used the new Altenew Sketchy Floral. I stamped onto some watercolor paper and colored the flowers with the equivalent of Bermuda Bay. I then added some drops to the middle of the flowers that are the closest I could get to Calypso Coral. the Pera Pizzazz is used only on the stamps. I love the way the colors turned out - a slightly muted version of themselves :-)
I do hope you will join us this week. If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than our design team creations. They really are amazing.
I'll be back with another card tomorrow - and some blog candy! So I hope you will come back and join me. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jayde
Card recipe:

Your post made me smile Jaydee - I love Bermuda Bay but definitely struggled with the combination of these three colours! Your beautiful watercoloured flower stem is a great solution though and the white base sets it off a treat. Beautifully CAS!

You certainly did hide the color you least liked. Beautiful card. Sorry, but I love Calypso Coral! That's what makes the world go round isn't it. Not all colors for everyone! Thanks for an amazing card.

The colors may not be in your wheelhouse but you made them your own beautifully. The soft muted shades you created are perfect for this gorgeous stamp and show how bright colors can be used serenely. Bravo, my friend!

It's funny how different people gravitate to different colours. I love Bermuda Bay and am lukewarm about Calypso Coral but think it looks good in this combination. I do love your soft colouring and white space. I like that you've toned down the riot of colour into such a serene scene.

So soft and pretty! You hid the coral in the perfect spot LOL! I love the silver embossing...goes so well with the muted tones.
Have a great day!

Oh my gosh, Jaydee, how did I manage to pick you least favorite colors?! Well regardless, they look just fabulous and your watercoloring toned them down so nicely. Gorgeous card.

Jaydee, you made me LOL! I love Bermuda Bay! You made it shine in this gorgeous creation! I love how you hid the Calypso Coral but, it truly is a lovely combo! The silver embossing is so pretty! All the white space makes your lovely flowers pop! I hope you are having a great week! XX

Your pretty florals are just so soft and lovely! I love the teeny addition of coral to the centers, and the embossing really makes them pop!
