Sketchy Flowers for Paper Players #358
20 August 2017
Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a challenge that should be right up my alley!
Now... this is a GREAT challenge and ... as I said...should have been right up my alley. But.. I have done so many cards with coloring recently - especially pencil coloring - that I decided to try and do something different.
I pulled out some Holbein watercolor paints in a gorgeous shade of pink and paired that with some gold embossed Sketchy Flowers.
I began by gold embossing the flowers onto a piece of Hot Pressed watercolor paper and colored the flowers with the Holbein paints. I cut the front panel to 5 and a quarter inches and added a piece of foil gold washi tape to the outer edge. It doesn't look that flat in the photo because it reflects so much light:-) I die-cut a sentiment in gold mirror cardstock and mounted that to the card base.
Here's my card:
To finish off the card, I added some gold splatters and some gold glitter Nuvo drops to the center of the flowers. I love the pink and gold together - although it is NOT a color combo that I would normally use. However, Rose and gold seems to be a trendy color combo these days. Not that I ever consider myself in the least bit trendy :-)
I hope you will join our challenge this week. If you are looking for some inspiration - you have to look no further than our the creations from our amazing design team:
I will be back tomorrow with some blog candy and a little fun! I do hope you will join me :-) In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
