Hello Gorgeous for Addicted to CAS # 123
28 October 2017
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Anja's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a very seasonal word for us:
We hope you will play along with us this week and our lucky winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to the fabulous Happy Little Stampers shop donated by our challenge creator, Kylie :-)
If you are looking for some inspiration, check out the wonderful designs from Karren our very talented design team, including our guest designer's gorgeous falling leaves card.
On to my card:
Considering we had 3 inches of snow yesterday - there are no leaves left on most of our trees! Sigh... I am looking out at a wetland covered in snow and it isn't even November yet! :-) Consequently, I didn't feel particularly autumnal, so decided to take a different route.
I looked through my stash and found this old SU paper that had white leaves on a vine on a pink background. I decided that this would be perfect to make a card to send to a friend.
I die-cut the letters "hello" using the Altenew Big Bold Alphabet dies and adhered them to the card base. All I had to do was stamp the word "gorgeous", add some glimmer to the leaves and stem with my gel pen, and my card was ready to go.
Here's a closeup of the leaves with a little bit of glimmer:
I love those little leaves :-) I really can't remember what paper stack this was from - but I've had it for a good number of years!
Here's the full card:
On a personal note:
Did I tell you already that I wasn't happy about the snow? :-) Usually I get so excited when I see the first snow fall of the season, but this year I am just not ready to give up sitting under out screened in porch enjoying the cooling breezes on a warm day watching the birds and animals go about their day. It's not the snow that I object to. Actually I like the snow. It's the fact that it is the harbinger of what's to come until next April. Let me remind you, April is 6 months away and it will be 7 months before we see anything green growing again! I do look forward to seeing the bright colors of our Orioles and summer birds and hope that all of you South of us have your feeders out to sustain them on their way south. :-)
I know the temps have been so warm these last couple of weeks, but I was still surprised to catch sight of this guy hanging around. What a glorious color he is:
Today I am going to spend some time in my craft room - a nice little place to look out of the wetland - and stay out of the cold :-) I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Player's card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

LOVE your take on the code word, Jaydee! Those 'Big Bold Alphas' are fabulous and they look amazing in pink with your glittery details! Such a pretty card!
So sorry to hear you've lost all of your leaves to a snowfall...no fair! Watching the trees change colors is one of the best things about fall...Stay warm my, friend ~ And, keep on crafting!

I feel exactly the same way about the arrival of snow - sadly, although we don't have snow yet, it looks like it might come next week, and might be sticking around for a while. Nooooooooooooo,
Great card, by the way (as always!)

Love your card, great take on the code word. I'm glad you showed us a close up of the glitter you put around the little leaves, (very cool idea and who doesn't love a little bling?!)

Sure do like your CAS Word card and the little bit of sparkle adds a nice beautiful touch.
Dang; hard to believe that you received 3 inches of snow already and I thought it was cold here in Texas waking up to the low 30's in getting in the 50's for a high but then by end of week we are to get in the 80's again. They say; ' if you don't like the Texas weather, just wait a bit and it will change.'
Lovely dragonfly. Looks like it's hanging around in the sun trying to warm itself.
I do think I have seen the last of our hummers. Haven't seen any now for the last couple of weeks. Will continue to leave the feeders out for couple more weeks just in case there are some late comers passing through. Just changed out there sugar water yesterday.
