Bella Loves Bows - Addicted to CAS # 124
11 November 2017
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Carolyn's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has an awesome code word for us.
Considering the time of year, there are so many different ways you can go with this code word. However, I decided to do neither Christmas - nor presents!
We hope you play along with us this week and, if you are chosen as our winner, our wonderful sponsor has a $10 gift card for you to spend in their store.
Joining us as our guest designer this week is the very talented Laurel. I hope you will stop by her blog and check out her fabulous Christmas bow.
Now... onto my card. When I saw the code word I knew that there was only one stamp I was going to use for this challenge. It's from Stamping Bella and is called Bella Loves Bows. I had such fun coloring this image. The great thing about this particular image is that you can color as much - or as little - as you like. In this case, it was minimum coloring - less than I normally do for this image. But I still think it works.
I went with an unusual color scheme for me...... red and purple. Not usually my colors - but as this card is being added to the cards being sent to Cards for Hospitalized Kids - I thought it was perfect.
I stamped the image, colored it and then die cut it with a stitched oval. I stamped the sentiment and then mounted the oval onto a Schoolhouse Red card base, popped up with a little fun foam.
Here's my card - can you see all those lovely bows :-)
I added some white Irresistibles on the bows on her shoes and the one on the heart present she is carrying. I have it in my head that she is carrying a big box of chocolates in that oversized heart!
f you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the cards of our amazingly talented design team and you can check them out on our Addicted to CAS blog.
On a personal note:
Well... my mojo seems to have gone south for winter and doesn't seem to be returning any time soon. So, I am going to take this weekend off as well and see if it decides to come back north as our week is looking to warm up a little. It's been really cold here - getting down to around 11 degrees and there is snow on the ground. We are supposed to have increased temps this week and I am looking forward to that :-)
Some of you asked me what frame I had used on my globe ornament card for my Paper Players challenge last week. It's actually an Altenew set. It's called the Framed set. I used the largest frame for the card. Altenew does make a die set for the stamps, but there isn't a die for the largest stamp.
I'll be back with my Remembrance Day post later today and my Paper Players card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
