Candy Cane for Addicted to CAS #125 and our Fifth Birthday

Hi Everyone.   Happy Saturday.

It's a big day across at Addicted to CAS today.  We are celebrating our 5th birthday!  Huge thanks to our challenge creator and entrepreneur, Kylie for starting this journey and inviting me along. :-)

It's the very talented Ceal's turn to host our challenge this week and she has chosen the following keyword:

We also have two sponsors for our challenge this week:

Happy Little Stampers is offering a $15.00 GC to the store.

Create a Smile Stamps is also offering a GC for 15 €

We also have a new guest designer joining us this week Lindsey Bowe.  Lindsey has created a gorgeous pink and white confection and I hope you will check it out.

Now, on to my card.    As soon as I saw this code word I knew it was time to bring out my silly elf.  I got this stamp free when I attended a craft fair down at the showgrounds in Minneapolis a couple of years ago and I love it.  It's such a fun image and I've used it on Christmas cards every year since then.  It's perfect for the last of my collection for the Cards for Hospitalized kids charity.

It really was a simple card to pull together.  I stamped the image and the sentiment and colored it with my Copic markers.  Really easy!

Here's my silly elf:

North Pole (1 of 1)-3
Of course I had to add a glimmer to the pole using my gel pen which, when I looked at it, caused a couple of small bleeds on the pole that I have to go and fix before I send it off!

I hope you will join us and play along.  If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the creations from our very talented design team.

On a personal note:

OK.   It was 60 degrees here yesterday.  60!  The weather the last couple of months has been ridiculous.... either decidedly colder than normal - or now hotter than normal.  It was a beautiful sunny day but it feels strange having 60 degree weather and looking out over the leaf-less, brown wetland!  Today is going to be slightly cooler, but is still a wonderful sunny day.

Today is the day that I HAVE to go into my craft room.  It'll be interesting to see what comes out at the end of it.  I HAVE to make three cards for upcoming challenges.  The great thing about challenges is that they can be just the thing that you need to reinvigorate a dry spell and I am hoping that is the case today.

Before I got into my craft room though, we are doing a little Christmas decorating first :-)

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got in some quality time with friends and family and those that you love.  In this time of being thankful - I am thankful for all of my blog readers who stick with me even when I am not posting regularly :-)  It's because of YOU that I continue to do it.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs
Jaydee

I always enjoy visiting your blog, Jaydee! So happy to hear that you're having unseasonably warm weather, too...enjoy it while you can!
I can see why you take out this stamp every year...it's adorable and I'm sure the children are absolutely going to LOVE your beautiful coloring! I love how you added sparkle and shine to the pole, too! A very special card for some very special children...God bless you for that :)
I re-set the link on the challenge blog, and all is well ~ Sending hugs, Barb

Jaydee, I love your silly elf! This image is sure to put a smile on a child's face!! Wonderfully colored and all ready to start this new holiday season.

Our weather has been similar in Ohio. Great to put out Christmas lights out and decorate. Kinda hard to get in the mood for Christmas though. My kids have been wearing shorts even...crazy!
