Just Because for Paper Players #378

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a really cool sketch for us:

As soon as I saw this sketch it reminded me of a Simon Says Stamp die that I bought ages ago.  I thought that, as well as a script stencil that I have in my stash, would be perfect for the challenge.

I began with a piece of vellum and the stencil.  I used some Altenew inks and added the script to the vellum and put it aside to dry.  I then took the die from SSS and die-cut a piece of gold glimmer paper for the circular element.  I mounted the script vellum onto a piece of Soft Sky and stamped the sentiment with Versamark and gold Altenew Superfine Gold embossing powder.  I also die=cut a piece of Pink Pirouette into a circle and used that as the backdrop to my gold glimmer paper leaves.

Here's my card:

Just Because (1 of 1)

Blue, pink and gold aren't normally the colors that I use together, but I thought they worked to produce a really soft color scheme.  I also love how subtle the script is, but still stays true to the sketch.

I hope you will join us and play along this week.  As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than our amazing design team:

On a personal note:

Well, I know for sure I will be in my craft room tomorrow doing more of my classes for the Altenew Educator Certificate Program.  I haven't worked out which of the classes I will do tomorrow - I think it depends on how I feel when I wake up.

I do know one thing, this invitation couldn't come at a better time.  Something guaranteed to get me in my craft room and getting inky!

Before I go, I do have a nature photo for you.  I know I have said this before, but I need to say it again, we have so appreciated getting closer to the woodpeckers in this home than we ever have before.  the Downy and the Hairy are both prevalent in our woodland and they are such amazing characters.  I managed to get this shot of of the Downy male at our feeder this week.

I'm hoping the weather is going to be clear enough to get some more nature shots tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee, how you cut such a delicate die from glimmer paper astounds me, and then you mounted it with not a trace of glue. You have skills, my friend! Such a beautiful card. I'm looking forward to hearing more about this Altenew class, it sounds like a big commitment but wonderfully beneficial.

Your card is gorgeous - so soft and the gold is just the right amount of shimmery goodness. I always love your 'bonus' photos too! Hope you're having a great week getting crafty ~ Annie

So soft and lovely, Jaydee. These colors are gorgeous together and I love how the gold shimmer pops on the soft pink. A great use of the sketch. Love seeing this woodpecker up close--we only have pileateds around here so a different type is fun to see!

What a beautifully soft and serene card Jaydee - I love the subtle stencilling and the sparkle of the gold against the pastels. The Altenew Certification sounds like fun - I'm sure you will rock this! As for Mr Woodpecker - what a handsome fella.

LeAnne

Gorgeous card in beautiful subtle shades and elements! So pretty! We've enjoyed our woodpeckers this year too! I saw that last year on this day, I had a pileated at my feeder, so I am on the lookout for him today, LOL!

Jaydee, this is soft and dreamy and romantic and gorgeous! The script on the vellum is wonderful. Who wouldn't love getting a card like this?! The Altenew programme news is wonderful. I do love Altenew stamps but only have a few - SU loyalty and all that. It's always interesting to see your photos, especially of wildlife that we don't have here.

Jaydee, this is gorgeous! I love the script background and the vellum is so lovely! Those gold glimmer leaves and embossed sentiment are perfect! How exciting about the Altenew certification! WOW! You will be amazing! I didn't know you could do this. So proud of you! Mr. Woodpecker is fortunate to have landed in your beautiful year! Have a fabulous week, My Friend! XX
