Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a sketch for us:
This is such a versatile sketch and I decided to take it in a more masculine route using some of the great Hey Dude masculine papers from My Mind's Eye.
You've seen me use this set from My Favorite Things before. I really like the sentiments - and the die-cuts for the bottle and the wine glasses.
I took one of the distinctive papers and used it as the horizontal element in the sketch, as well as the label and top for my die-cut wine bottle. I also used a contrasting paper for the bottle itself.
Here's a closeup of the papers together:
I really do love these papers and, even though there is a little shimmer and shine - I don't think that detracts from the masculine feel. Although, Lou might disagree :-)
I used Early Espresso cardstock as my card base and vanilla for the focal layer. I added the sentiment from the set and the card was really easy to assemble. I used fun foam behind the focal layer and some foam tape behind the bottle.
Here's my full card:
I hope you will join us and play along this week. As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than our amazing design team.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card - and the winner of the blog candy. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

I love this, Jaydee! The colors, the sentiment, and the papers are fabulous. Love the stamped detail on the wine bottle and the way you altered the direction of the paper for interest. Such a great card....now I really must go purchase this stamp set, cheers my friend!

Great masculine card Jaydee! I love the stamp set and papers you’ve used. The top of the bottle gives the impression that it’s the cork! Have a wonderful Monday!

I think your card is just wonderful! Truly masculine, which are the hardest cards to make, in my humble opinion.
