Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a Tic Tac Toe for us:
I decided we had seen more than enough PURPLE! these last couple of weeks, so it was wonderful to have an excuse to go with yellow! I went vertical - left column - yellow, birthday and flowers.
I began by stamping the Enchanted Iris onto a piece of hot pressed watercolor paper and then used my zig markers to color the flowers.
I had seen photos of these amazing bright yellow iris with red centers and decided that I would emulate them.
Here's a closeup of the centers.
The white embossing powder allowed me to create an almost "no line coloring" for the iris. The Zig Real Brush markers added just the right amount of vibrancy that I needed.
Here's my full card:
I hope you will join us and play along this week. If you are looking for some inspiration you have to look no further than our wonderful design team creations.
On a personal note:
I managed to sit outside on the front porch today. It was only in the low 50s... but our porch is a bit of a sun trap so I was able to avoid the rather chilly north wind. It was also great to see that almost all of the snow has melted and the spring birds are making a return.
We had these two visit us.... and I was so glad to see them. You can see just how brown the grass still is, as they are pretty hard to see. Oh... and how tall the old grass is, too!
Oh.. and here is a sight that makes my heart go pitter patter.......
the last remnants of the snow! It has been a brutally long winter and I cannot tell you how happy I am to see that most of the snow has gone!
I'll be back tomorrow with some more photos - and a card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jayde

Jaydee, the irises are gorgeous! Mine are all in bloom in my yard. I love them! I have purple, yellow and peach ones! The embossed white outlines are lovely to showcase the beautiful watercolors! I am so glad your snow is finally gone and hopefully you will have warmer days now. It is gorgeous in ATL this week! XXX

Hi Jaydee,
I keep seeing this white embossed stamping and I just think its so attractive and I keep saying "I should do that" but ... LOL - you make it look so good. I think irises are so striking.
What kind of birds were these? I always appreciate when folks post photos and a little bit of theirselves on your blogs!

Hi Jaydee! Oh I adore your bright and cheery card this morning! The iris looks fantastic in shades of yellow and red, just like late Spring. I'm so happy your snow is melting and your getting warmer temps. It must feel wonderful sitting outside once again and welcoming new visitors back to your yard. ; ) I hope you have a lovely Sunday!
