Rubbernecer tulips for Color Throwdown
It's a celebration - Paper Players #400

Hey There

Hi Everyone.

I have a very quick post for you tonight.   I made a card inspired by the challenge across at Just Us Girls

Isn't that just the sweetest pineapple you have ever seen?  What a great carving job.   I love pineapple but, very sadly, I am deadly allergic to it.  Yep... you know the..... carry an Epi Pen ... allergic.  So, I have to make sure to stay as far away from tropical drinks and tropical fruit salads.  But, I can certainly appreciate a great piece of pineapple sculpture when I see it. :-)

I started my stamping an owl-d :-) Hero Arts set that was created for Operation Write Home called Lil Hoot.  I stamped the image and then colored it with my Copics.   I die cut a frame for it from the Altenew Make  Wreath die cut and used the same dies to cut some leaves in vellum.

Here's a close-up of the vellum leaves

And you can get a sneak of the owl, too :-)

The coloring for the owls was really simple.  I put down a base color and then "stippled" the end of my Copic marker to add texture to the feathers.   I finished with some B0000 around the owls and mounted the frame and the leaves over the top.

Here's my card:

Hey there Owl (1 of 1)

You can see that I used some woodgrain card stock for the frame.  I love the texture that it gives.

On a personal note:

The weather has been sublime and I have spent the last few days at my desk watching the babies flying to the feeders.   Most of them are now at the point where they can feed themselves, but that doesn't stop them from squawking if they think Mom or Dad will do the job for them :-)    This afternoon I watched 3 woodpeckers, 3 orioles, the catbird and the robins all trying to get to the same bowl of jelly.  It was like JFK airport watching them take their turn.   It was just the same at the feeder on the other end of the deck, too!

I can't get good photos through the screen - but here's a shot of the Oriole, the woodpecker and the Grosbeak

Woodpeckeroriolegrosbeak (1 of 1)-2

For the most part they are amazingly patient with each other.  However, when the jelly starts to get low - then they aren't as patient!

Charlie decided it was too boring to watch them, so settled down in the chair

Too comfy, me thinks!

I'll be back later in the week.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Jaydee this card is adorable, love those cute owls! But your Charlie, too lazy to watch squawking birds? Now that is one comfy kitty! Ours cats are so spoiled...

Thanks for a great card! Love the vellum leaves and the dimension they add to your sweet owls. Enjoy your wildlife pics and your comments on them as well. I have that same hummingbird feeder and really like the ease in cleaning it when I refill. Thanks for sharing.

Maria

Oh those cute owls look amazing nestled in that frame! Great job! Thanks so much for playing along with Just Us Girls this week!

Bobby

I have that owl set but have only used the single owl. This is so cute, Jaydee, and I love the frame and its wonderful texture.

Bobby

Oops, I meant to thank you for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls. I'm so goo goo for owls that I completely forgot.
