Rubbernecer tulips for Color Throwdown
24 June 2018
Hi Everyone. Happy Monday.
I have a quick card for the Color Throwdown challenge this week. Here's the fabulous, soft, palette:
I wanted to create a soft, watercoor version of this challenge. It felt really floral, but I decided I wanted to pull out an older floral stamp set from Rubbernecker. It is one of the earliest floral sets I have.
I started with some watercolor paper and white heat embossed the outline images. I used some Winsor and Newton watercolor markers to color the image
For the background, I was torn about what color to use. Blue? White? Green? Pink? No, I decided to do a really soft grey. The other colors really distracted from the fabulous fotness of the flowers.
Here's a close-up of the flowers. I love the softness of the pinks against the heat embossed flowers.
Here's my full card:
I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of shimmer card stock and added a little piece of pink embossed patterned paper from My Minds Eye.
here's the inside:
Of course, I had to stamp the envelope, too!
On a personal ntoe:
I had a great time in my craft room today. It was such a wonderful, cool escape, from the heat outside. I'll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift tonight.
Hugst
Jaydee
That is simply lovely. What a pleasure it would be to receive such a piece of art in the mail!

Love your card, Jaydee. The soft colors and the white embossing, plus the beautiful shape of the die make a stunning card. TFS. Enjoy your week!
