Wild Birthday

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a clean and simple theme challenge:

I decided to have a little fun with this challenge.  I haven't used my crazy emu stamp for a while and decided it was time to dust him off and give him some crazy hair.
I inked up my stamp with markers using a mixture of reds, greens and yellows.  Instead of the normal black ink, I used Altenew's Industrial Diamond - a really nice grey. I huffed and puffed onto the stamp to re-wet it and stamped it onto a piece of Neenah Solar White #80 cardstock.
Here's a closeup of the hair:

Instead of die-cutting the panel, I decided to use the stitched rectangle die to emboss a frame instead.  I mounted the embossed panel onto a Neenah Solar White #110 card base.  Here's my full card:

I kept the inside very clean and simple:

But... I couldn't resist adding a little glimpse of this cool character on the envelope:

I hope you will join us and play along this week.   If you are looking for some inspiration, check out the fabulous cards from our design team:

On a personal note:

Hot and humid here this weekend.  In the 90s, but it's the humidity that I don't like.  Most people think of Minnesota as being really cold (and it is for multiple months of the year!), but many don't know that we have these hot, humid periods where it can get as high as 110+ with heat indices.  I remember sending a screen shot to a friend in the UK last year and it was 113.  It's days like this when our screened in porch becomes the place to escape.  The trees and a general breeze - and the fact that it is North facing, really help to keep it a little cooler.   Some of the cats just love lazing out there on these hot days sleeping away the afternoon.   I was downstairs with them for about half an hour yesterday and managed to catch a couple of shots that I will share with you later in the week.

In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Jaydee, this is hilarious! I absolutely adore this emu! All that colorful and glittery hair hair is great! This card would make anyone smile! This was such a fun challenge and so many amazing entries! It is hot in the ATL, too! Humid is not very fun, but it is part of living in the South. Stay cool and have a great weekend, My Friend! XXX

Always love when that wacky emu stamp shows up. The grey is a nice touch over the black. Stay cool, I've been sitting under the a/c this weekend.

There's that cute and crazy Emu stamp. :} That is such a great stamp and you make such lovely cards using that 'wild' and 'crazy' stamp.
Card is sure to bring a giggle to anyone who receives it.
Great job Jaydee.
Hot down this way as well.
We built and just delivered a 9 foot long picnic table for our daughter and love-in-law and I think we built it on the first hottest week, but got it done
