I have a quick post for you tonight - and it's a Christmas card! yes.... I know... It's only the beginning of July and none of us are ready to think about cold weather. Especially those of us that had over 20 inches of snow in May!!!
However, I purchased this wonderful set from Power Poppy and couldn't wait to ink it up. As my blog readers may remember, our Cardinals hang around all through winter and provide wonderful pops of color on those cold, drab winter days, so purchasing this set was a no-brainer for me :-)
I began by stamping one of the images onto a piece of Neenah Solar White #110 card stock and colored it with my Copic markers. I kept the colors very monochromatic, except for the little touches of green.
It was such a fun image to color - here's a closeup. I know it might be hard to see, but I did use a few different colors of red, but kept the coloring really easy:
I die-cut the image with my stitched ovals and colored the entire background with my B0000 Copic marker. I added a little more color - including grey, to anchor the image. I backed it onto a piece of red patterned paper, stamped the sentiment and the card was complete :-)
I'm entering this little pair in the following two challenges:
Little Red Wagon is having a Christmas in July challenge and As You Like It is asking us to share a card for our favorite celebration and they want to know why.... that's easy.... Christmas is magical and I have wonderful memories growing up in England. it didn't snow very often, but when it did, the whole world changed and became this winter wonderland of fairytales. My parents, although very far from wealthy, tried their hardest at this time of year to make each Christmas special and Mom created wonderful traditions that I still maintain today.
I'll be back later with my Addicted to CAS challenge card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
