Happy day for Addicted to CAS #141
21 July 2018
Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's my pleasure to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and this is my code word:
Summertime invokes so many memories, especially after the long winters of Yorkshire, England, where I grew up. It was a time of sunshine and heat so strong that it melted the tarmac on the road surface. Memories of long days and short nights. A sense of freedom when the school gates closed and wouldn't reopen for 8 weeks. When the days were warm enough that Pammie's Dad brought out the inflatable paddling pool and we would splash around, running and jumping over it, in it, and through it. It was also the time when the rains came and it was fun to run in the puddles.
There is something about this image from Stampin' Up! that reminds me of those carefree days and the joy of just playing in the water. So, of course, this was the image that I was inspired to use for my card.
I used some Winsor and Newton 140# watercolor paper. My favorite, all-time watercolor paper. It takes water like no other water color paper like no other - and it didn't warp. I used some Winsor and Newton water color pens to color the image. I used a stencil to create water droplets - take a look:
Once the paper was dry, I die-cut it with the favorite stitched rectangles die and mounted it onto Soft Sky card stock.
Here's my full card:
I hope you will join us and play along this week. If you do, and you are chosen as the winner, the amazing Kylie has a $20 gift card to her store - Happy Little Stampers.
If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the fabulous creations from our design team - including our guest designer - Gerrina who created a card that incorporates another favorite summer pastime, sun bathing and reading!
I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
