Happy Birthday - Paper Players #400
Orchid Rocks Hi

Thank you for Inkspirational #164

Hi Everyone

I have a quick post for you tonight.    I made a card for the new Inkspirational Challenge

Before I get to my new card though... I'd like to say a huge thank you to the team for selecting my African sunset card from this post as a top 3 pick.  I don't get to play along with challenges anywhere near as much as I used to, but Inkspirational is one of my favorites, so being chosen as a top 3 placement was a great thrill!

Now... on to the photo for this week.    At first I was tempted to do a sun.... but decided I couldn't do anything as amazing as the inspiration photo, so decided to take it in a different direction.

I kept with the circle and the warm colors.  I also managed to incorporate the green tree of enlightenment.  I needed a thank you card, so this was the perfect inspiration for that.

I used a Simon Says Stamp circle die-cut as my starting point and then used some Altenew inks to create a sponged background.
I adhered the top layer over the sponged layer and then set about adding some more interest.     I added black lines to the leaves - and around the inner part of the circle, but it needed a third black element, so I stamped a tiny little butterfly in black.

Of course, that wasn't quite enough - so I took my glitter pen and added lots of shimmer to the background.  Here's a closeup:

The shimmery background is really pretty in real life.  You can see I added a little shading underneath the "veins" of the leaves.  I mounted the finished layer onto a black card base and added a black sentiment.

Here's my full card:

I hope you can see the inspiration photo in my finished card.   I love the blended background and the pops of black :-)

On a personal note:

OK.  It's hot.  officialy. and. it. is. HUMID...... I do have some photos to share with you - and a little story about this little guy..... and his family.... but that's for later in the week.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

BTW... if you look closely - there's a bonus.  Two deer at the feeder :-)
Hugs
