Waterbabies for the Library Challenge
Hello...... Seas the Day for Paper Players # 404

Love you Big Time - Addicted to CAS #142

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.

It's the fabulous Ellenor's turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge and here is her code word:

I hope you will play along with us this week.  If you do, and you are chosen as the winner, the wonderful Kylie has a $20 GC for her store Happy Little Stampers:

Happy Little Stampers

If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the designs from our very talented design team.

For my card, I decided to use a new set that I purchased from Hero Arts - more about this set later.  I began by stamping the layering whale onto Neenah Solar White #80 card stock - using three of the colors that came with the set.  I allowed each layer to dry before stamping the next one.  I then die-cut the whale with the dies that came in the set.

I then used my Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle Dies to create both the rectangle and a frame.  I colored the frame with one of the colors from the accompanying inks and left it to dry whilst I stamped the water behind the whale.

I used my gel roller to add a few little bits of shimmer to small areas of the sea.  Here's a closeup:

You can see that I added a couple of shimmery lines onto the back of the whale and under it's belly.  I mounted the whale with double sided foam and added my sentiment.   Once I had adhered the "sea" layer to my card base, I adhered the frame that I had made from the rectangle dies.

Here's my full card:

Now, I promised to tell you a little more about this set.  I was on the Hero Arts site a couple of week's ago and noticed a heart and "giving" along the top bar of their site.  See the screen shot below:

Screen Shot 2018-07-15 at 2.13.48 PMI thought mmmmmm..... interesting.  I wonder what that is?  So I clicked on it and was amazed to see the diverse group of charities they have created stamp sets for.  If you click on the screen shot above - it will take you to the Hero Arts giving page - or you can click here.

Each stamp set made to support one of these charities means that 100% of the profits go directly to the charity.  That's pretty darn cool I thought.  Of course, I had to buy a couple and the first one that went into my basket was the Color Layering Whale.  Proceeds for the Whale set go WWF - one of my favorite charities.  The proceeds go directly to the Oceans Initiatives.   A cause very dear to my heart.   I was really pleased to see the diversity of charities they support.  Pretty cool.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs Jaydee
