Artsy Leaves for Twofer and As You See It

Sporting - Clean and Simple for Paper Players #410

Hi Everyone

Happy Sunday.  It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great theme for our Clean and Simple week.

I realized that I do not have any sports related stamps, but remembered one of the Penny Black stamp sets - Sunny Days - had featured a dog and a soccer ball :-)

As this is a CAS challenge, I decided to create a one layer card, but broke that rule when I popped up a piece of grass to ground the dog.    I used the grass die from Hero Arts with a piece of green card stock.  I then used my Copic markers to add different layers of "grass" to add a little texture and interest.  It was also the perfect place to add my sentiment. Here's a closeup:

I stamped the image onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80#card stock and colored it with Copic markers.   I framed the image using a very old stamp that I have in my stash.  I think the whimsical frame works well with the image.  I then attached this front panel to a piece of 110# card stock as I didn't want the Copic coloring to show through.

Here's my card:

I hope you will play along with us this week.  As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the designs from our very talented team:

I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

I love this cute footballing puppy dog Jaydee - and the popped up grass border is the perfect way to add a little dimension and grounds him beautifully. Adorable!

Such a cute image! I love how the little bits of shading (blue around the dog, texture on the grass cut-out) make such a difference. Love it!
