Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and it's a color challenge:
I had leaves in mind when I chose these colors, but decided to go with a floral instead! I started with the flower itself - Altenew's Wildflower Garden. I love this set, although I haven't quite brought myself to make a garden card out of this set yet!
I used the Watercolor Stripes stencil on the card base with some Crushed Curry equivalent ink. I know it's hard to see, but the lines really are there :-) Let's see if a close-up helps.
Yeah... I think you should be able to see them on the close-up. I stamped the flowers and then die-cut them with a Studio Katia die. I mounted the panel onto the striped base with fun foam. I added some enamel dots to the middle of the flowers as a finishing touch.
Here's my full card:
I hope you will join us and play along this week. As usual, the design team have some amazing inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Lou and I spent the early part of the week in the Carolina's celebrating our anniversary. The Blue Ridge Parkway was supposed to be at peak color this week. Mmmm... it was 91 degrees when we arrived and the leaves were all pretty much still green! So no fall color watching for us, but we enjoyed our stay anyway. We spent a couple of days in Greenville and loved the downtown. Lots of great restaurants and coffee shops. It was a hive of activity on a Sunday night. It was a fabulous couple of days relaxing and spending time in nature and the mountains.
We left on Wednesday and missed the rains from Hurricane Michael. My heart goes out to those that were in the path of this dreadful storm. It's so hard to look at the photos of the devastation knowing how many people have lost their lives, have been displaced, or have lost everything they had.
I'll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Jaydee, I have to tell you that when I saw Cajun Craze, I almost turned the other cheek. Ha! Thank you for this challenge to encourage me to use a color that I shy away from. So clean and beautiful! Love that stitched detail.

Jaydee I loved working with these gorgeous fall colors, and love your CAS creation with them. Your focal panel is such an interesting shape, yet doesn't detract from the simple stems. Great subtle background, too.

Jaydee, I love those subtle yellow stripes for the background! Your beautiful floral combo is stunning! An amazing color combo for the season! So sorry you didn't see much Fall foliage, but so happy you enjoyed your Anniversary trip!!!! Greenville is the new hot spot in the South. People love it there! So happy you had a lovely trip! And yes, the hurricane damage is devastating! So much tragedy for so many! Warm hugs, My Friend! XX

I loved this spray of wildflowers as soon as I saw it. I like the clean look of it. The stripes are subtle but I'll be they look great in real life. Lovely card and a lovely set of challenge colours. Thank you!

What a pretty card Jaydee - I love the subtle stripes on your background and the stylised flowers with their enamel dot centres. Anniversary congratulations for last weekend - sounds like a fun road trip, if a little warm and lacking in fall colour. Your palette this week certainly makes up for this!
