Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a sketch:
I decided to have some fun with this sketch.... well, not so much with the sketch - but with my sentiment :-)
I needed a card for Lou and pulled out a set I brought at Ellen Hutson a little while ago. It has some fantastic sentiments, and this one is just perfect. The day Lou met me, he knew it wasn't going to be an easy ride, but he's stuck around for 25 years and I thought it was time to recognize that fact.
I pulled out some masculine patterned paper - the "strong-arm" man was perfect for the sentiment! I also added another paper that has silhouettes of power tools. Why is it that every time something needs done around the house, a new power tool seems to be required? Is Lou the only guy that is like that? Anyway, I glued the papers to the card base to match the sketch and die-cut the sentiment with my stitched rectangles and mounted it on some fun foam onto the card base.
Here's a look at the papers I used:
You will notice that I managed to sneak a little bling onto the card - the strong arm men are wearing foiled leotards :-)
Here's my full card:
Seriously, I just love this sentiment! I am sure I am not the only person this applies to:-)
I hope you will join us and play along this week. As usual, if you are looking for some inspiration, our design team have some fabulous cards for you:
On a personal note:
I did manage to finally make a card. As you can see, it was especially complicated, but it was a card! I really don't know where my mojo has gone and life certainly has been getting in the way of crafting recently.
Lou and I decorated the house - inside and out - for Christmas. It looks warm and cozy and I love drawing the curtains at night and seeing the glow of the candles and lights. It helps me to forget that it is so cold outside!
I'm hoping that I will be able to get back into my craft room tomorrow because I REALLY need to start making Christmas cards - and I have a couple of birthday cards that need to get sent out.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
