Hi Everyone.
Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great theme for us. This week also sees us welcoming our new 2019 Design Team members. Sadly, we said goodbye to Jan, Eliz and Annie at the end of 2018. Joining us this week are Su Mohr and Wanda Cullen. Welcome Su and Wanda, it's wonderful to have you join us.
Here's Ann's theme challenge:
Looking through my new catalog of stamps, I had created a category called "animals". So, finding the right stamp was a breeze and I decided this wonderful elephant from Katzelkraft's Les Jungles would be perfect. He's such a forlorn looking elephant and I have used him in the past for birthday cards, but thought he would be perfect as a "miss you" critter.
I stamped him onto Neenah Solar White #80 card stock and colored him with my Copic Markers. This was another really easy card to put together, with minimal coloring required. However, I did have fun coloring him - he just makes me smile every time I see him:-)
Here's a closeup of the coloring:
Told you it was simple coloring. The artists shade marks make it really easy to add shading. The "hardest" part was creating the grass for him!
I stamped the sentiment and then adhered the 80# layer to a 110# card base. Easy, peezy!
Here's my critter:
I hope you will join us and play along this week. We would love to see your critters in the gallery.
I'll be back with another card tomorrow. Yes... that would be my 4th post in 3 days!!!! :-). In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
Card recipe:
- Stamp: Katzelkraft - Les Jungles
- Card stock: Neenah Solar White 80# and Neenah Solar White #110
- Inks: Gina K Amalgam Black. Copic Markers
I love the elephant. Can think of lots of occasions to use him... or is it her?
Even though you said it was simple coloring it added the perfect touch. Never heard of Katzelkraft but will need to check them out.

That little elephant looks so sad! Aww! Perfect sentiment to go with his melancholy mood. Such a sweet card and as always, CAS perfection. Happy New Year!

Somehow, I just LOVE this little sad sack. I think it's because he pretty much embodies how I have been feeling lately....sad and deflated and tired! Anyway, your coloring is perfect, and he's a perfectly "embellished" with that sentiment!

This elephant is priceless, Jaydee! I love how you colored him, especially the grass, and the sentiment is just perfect.

This elephant is so cute Jaydee - he is definitely missing someone! Love the CAS composition and the green grass grounds him beautifully and shows off the wonderful tonal greys of the elephant himself. Happy new year to you!
