HI Everyone. Happy Tuesday.
I have another card to share with you from my Sunday crafting spell. As usual, I went looking for some inspiration and found two challenges to play along with at Inkspirational and Casethissketch:
Now.... let's talk about Kraft..... Mmmmm.... Not my usual go to color - so this was a real challenge for me and I decided it was time to put my new Caran D'Ache pencils to the test.
I began by stamping some sweet peas down the right hand side. I then set about coloring them with my new pencils. I was really pleased to see how well they blended on the kraft card base and with the overall look of the finish at the end. The pencils don't come in a lot of colors, so I had to play around with the yellows, oranges, greens, browns and white until I got the result I was happy with.
Here's a closeup of the colors:
They really do blend so well. Oh... and you will probably have noticed the gold splatters made an appearance again :-)
I decided to go with a gold embossed sentiment, but it just didn't stand out enough from the kraft base. So, I decided to play around with my Versafine ink and some clear embossing powder. I ended up with a black/gold distressed look. It was successful, but a bit messy as some of the versafine ink stayed behind and I had to make sure I blotted that up.
Here's a closeup of the sentiment:
And here's my full card:
you can get a much better feel of the real colors here, as I managed to catch some daylight to take this photo. But I was really pleased with the way the colors came out :-)
Of course, I had to add a little something to the inside:
And the envelope.
I'll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Thanks, Joan. Yeah.. I tend to go a little overboard with the splatters, but thought that they really needed to be confined :-)

Stunning work! I love coloring with pencils on kraft as well and you've done amazing job here. Love all the added shiny details and such a pretty color combo and wonderful CAS layout too. Thanks for joining us at Inkspirational!

Beautiful card full of sunshine. I like how you kept the splatters on the right side, over the image. Will have to remember that for myself.

You did a great job with the blending of all these colours-it looks amazing. I like the off the edge stamping also. The gold splatters add an arty feel to your card and to me the sentiment fits perfectly. So good to see you at Ink
