Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a sketch challenge for us and it is such a great sketch:
I wasn't quite sure where to go with this, but I looked in my stash and realized that I had a couple of newish stamp sets that would work really well. I pulled out two Ellen Hutson Essentials sets called A breve Note and Latte Love and combined them to create my card
I started with the back panel. I used two of the coffee cups from the Latte Love set. I stamped them onto textured card stock and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then cut and adhered the panel to the base card. Next I cut a piece of gold mirrored card stock from Altenew and adhered that to the embossed panel. Next thing, I stamped and fussy cut the coffee cup from Latte Love and added that to the gold layer with fun foam. I colored the inside of the coffee cup and added my little puttytat to it and finished off the whole thing with some shimmer and shine
Here's a closeup of the embossed cup and bean pattern that I created:
And here's a closeup of the puttytat and the cup:
The sentiment for the card comes from the same set as the cat and the cup - Latte Love. Here's my full card:
Of course, I had to decorate the inside, too.
As an Italian speaker, Lou loved the play on words for this card :-) I hope you will join us and play along this week. As usual, the design team have some fabulous creations to inspire you:
On a personal note:
Lou and I have just returned from a Caribbean cruise. It was wonderful to spend my birthday in Havana, Cuba and to feel some warm air and the sun on my face. It was 60 degrees at home yesterday and we are watching the snow melt. It was very odd sitting on the front porch in the sun and still seeing the garden covered in snow :-) But, we know that Spring is definitely on her way as we watched - and listened - to multiple Sandhill Cranes flying overhead yesterday. At one point we saw 20 of them flying in formation over our house. We also heard the trilling of the Red Shouldered Blackbird and noticed a couple of Robins had returned. this morning it was the turn of the Mallards and the Canadian Geese. I need to check, but I think the Junco's have left, which is a sure sign that Spring is on her way.
I'll have more about our Cuba trip - and a couple more cards - for you later this week. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
