Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Susan's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge and she has a great code word for us:
I decided to bring out an oldie - but goodie. Sadly, this company is no longer creating stamps, which is a pity as they had some good humorous stamps. I created this card for DD - now, it has to be said that she is not looking for a guy. Right now, she is concentrating on her career. However, I knew that she would appreciate the humor! :-)
I started by die-cutting an oval and then using a stencil to add some darker green pattern. I finished it up with a lighter green, which was blended with my blending brushes. I then used some Broken China distress ink around that to create the feel of water. Also blended with my new make-up brushes that I got from Amazon for $10!
I finished off the base with an embossed stitched border and stamped the sentiment in the corner. I colored the Prince Charming frog with Copic markers and added some glimmer to his little toes and his eyes with a red gel pen. The final touch was a mini wobbler behind him. Then, I got to work on the inside, which is, of course, where the punch line is :-)
Here's a closeup:
And here's a quick view of how much movement you get with the Mini Wobblers:
Here's the front of the card:
Isn't he a cutie? Oh.... that reminds me... .we should start to see our tree frogs appearing sometime in the next month. Out of their winter hibernation!
For the inside, I repeated the stamped frog - but didn't color him, I just inked him up with two different color green inks and then stamped the punchline.
HA...... I'm not sure about y'all, but there are multiple times during our 25 years together that I have had to rag on Lou about NOT asking for directions - or reading the manual :-)
I hope you will join us and play along this week. We would love to see your funny/punny cards. As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you, including our fabulous guest designer Ma-Mi
I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

I'm glad you showed the inside, Jaydee. That makes it even more humorous. Putting the frog on a wobbler was a great idea.

Such a fun card! Love the details of the stenciling on the lily pad , the blue inking around it, the wobbler... The sentiment is hilarious. Your DD will love it!
