Beautiful You for Addicted to CAS #160

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

It's the turn of the fabulous Angie to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and here is her code word:

I needed graduation card for a good friend of mine who is celebrating graduating from a six month long local leadership class that she has been doing it's been a fascinating journey watching her go through this class and all of the exercises that help ready the next generation of leaders in not-for-profit organizations.  This class has meant a great deal to her and she was very excited when she graduated last Friday.  Blue is one of her favorite colors, so this was a perfect opportunity to be able to pull out some old patterned paper and give this image a joyful polkadot blue dress.  Oh!  and a great excuse for me to use this favorite SU set again/

To emphasize the color of the paper, I used a similar textured card stock for the base.  I get this card really clean and simple by adding a celebrate sentiment to the front.  Here's my card:

Beautiful you for ATCAS (1 of 1)

I promise you the elements on this card really are straight, but it was very difficult to get the angle to show you that.

I kept the inside just as simple as the outside by stamping the image onto the base and then adding sentiment.  Here's the inside:

I hope that you will join us this week and play along with Angie's challenge.  As usual the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you.

On a personal note:

It's been a very dull, grey, wet and very windy week.  The poor frog and birds believe that summer has already come and gone and we are back in winter.  It even snowed earlier in the week in the northern part of the state!  But nothing like the 2 feet that they had in South Dakota!!  Luckily tomorrow looks to be a beautiful day and we are set for a rain free weekend.  I'm hoping to be able to sit on the front porch and get my share of vitamin D!

I'll be back tomorrow with my paper players card.  In the meantime warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift tonight.

card recipe:

  • stamps:  beautiful you, Stampin' Up!
  • patterned paper - Stampin' Up!

She looks lovely in a polka dotted dress, Jaydee. Great paper piecing.

LOVE the image that you used. Such a beautiful card!

I so love that image, and you have created a wonderful card of celebration. I love your paper piecing, and also the way you stamped it lightly on the inside beneath the sentiment. Wonderful design. I hope you got the vitamin D you needed. It was beed so rainy and cold where I love too, and this weekend has been glorious. Wishing you continued brightness ad warmth as summer has unofficially begun!
