Using Christmas stamps for non-Christmas cards
Beautiful You for Paper Players #441

What's on the Horizon for Addicted to CAS #159

HI Everyone.

Happy Saturday.  It's the fabulous Toni's turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge and this is her code word:

Once I saw the challenge, I immediately knew that I wanted to use the Hero Arts Safari set that was first released as a monthly kit - I think back in 2017.

Back in February I made a couple of cards for Lou using the Impression Obsession's Puzzle die.  He was on a long flight to Asia and I thought they would give him something to do to pass his time :-). He loved them so much that I thought I would make another one for him to do on his trip last week.

So, although the first photo shows a non-puzzle version, I have provided a view of what it looked like after Lou had completed it.

I began by stencil from the die and added some Distress Inks to create the sun.  I used my blending make-up brushes for the inking, but, as this is supposed to be a sunset, I didn't want a perfect blend.

I then added the lion, the acacia tree and the sentiment.

Here's my card:

Once I had photographed it, I then ran the card through my Big Shot with the Impression Obsession puzzle die.  Here's how the card looked after Lou had completed the puzzle and put sticky tape on the back to keep it together:

I hope you will join us this week.  As usual, the design team have some incredible inspiration for you - including our very talented guest designer .Ishani

On a personal note:

The sun is finally shining, but the cold wind has not yet disappeared.  I have been wearing jumpers since October, which means I have been cold for 8 months out of the last 12!  BUT... we are starting to see the buds appearing on the trees and green shoots coming up in the garden.  So I am going to focus on that  and the fact that it is going to get get 62 degrees today!

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

Oh my gosh, what a brilliant idea, Jaydee! Your design is gorgeous and I love how you turned it into a puzzle! Beautiful gradation in your ink blending, too...such a striking card!

What a wonderful silhouette to put in front of your inked sun, Jaydee. I've seen photos similar and you've captured the scene beautifully. What a great idea to turn it and other images into small puzzles.

This is such a wonderful card, Jaydee. So fun and so thoughtful to send with Lou it as a puzzle on a long trip. Wonderful interpretation of the code word. I love it.
