Sailing Home for Paper Players #451

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's Clean and Simple week.

I recently bought some SU sets and today's card features one of my favorites.  The hardest part for me is taking some of these sets, like Sailing Home, that are just screaming to be used on cards with lots of wonderful details and layers, and paring them back.
I stamped the image of the lighthouse and yacht and cut them out with their matching dies.  The front layer was mounted using fun foam and the two images with foam dots.  The seagulls were stamped directly onto the focal layer - along with the sentiment.
Here's my card:
Sailing Home (1 of 1)

I hope you will join us and play along.  You can check out the design team's cards on their blogs:

I'll be back later tonight with another card and the winner of the blog candy!  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Stamps:  Sailing Home - Stampin' Up!

Oh, Jaydee! No one does clean and simple as well as you! I love how you stamped the birds and sentiment directly on the card, and then popped up the lighthouse and sailboat to give it depth. I really need to learn how to make CAS cards from you! Thank you for creating this beauty for my Clean and Simple Masculine challenge this week.

I know what you mean about pairing back with this suite Jaydee - so many lovely things do make it tough, but as your card shows it does work for a great CAS card. Love the white and grey combo and clean lines, along with my favourite sentiment - bravo!

Hi Jaydee! This has become one of my favorite stamp sets and I just love how you showcased it with your signature clean design. The white space and neutral colors really make this card a standout! Love it!

Jaydee, I love the simplicity of this fabulous nautical card. You make it look so easy! I would want to add more to the background, but it simply doesn't need a thing! You are a genius at CAS! Love the gray and white, too! Such a heart warming sentiment, too! Thinking of you and sending warm hugs. Sure hope you are feeling much better! XX

Love your nautical card! That sentiment is great, too!
