Feather Finery for Casethissketch and Casology
09 October 2019
Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday.
I hope you are all enjoying this fabulous fall weather. It's been simply glorious here the last couple of days!
I made a card for two challenges - the sketch across at Casethissketch and it worked very well with the theme across at Casology
Whilst I was working out what to do with these challenges, I had a packet of Powder Pink card stock on my craft table... newly arrived from my Paper Players friend, LeAnne. For some reason, I completely missed this color whilst it was an In Color. Mind you, I generally avoid pinks like the plague, but for some reason, I just love the peachy-pink tones in this color. When I went to buy it on the SU website, I realized it was retired! So, LeAnne helped me out with some of her old supplies :-)
I kept the card clean and simple and used some Ellen Hutson edge dies to create the break between the main part of the card and the top so that I could conform to the sketch. I inked up the feathers, die-cut them with the matching dies, and then added a little shimmer and shine with some Lawn Fawn Rose Gold embossing powder. I was surprised just how well it went with the Powder Pink. Take a look at how beautifully it matches:
And isn't that color oh so pretty? I love it. So sayeth the pink-hater :-) As I still do not have my circle dies, I had to use one from a set of SU dies that I have. Luckily it was perfect for the sentiment - it just fit. I adhered the feathers and then mounted the sentiment on foam tape and added a little twine to the top of the feathers.
Here's my full card:
I think you might be seeing more of this color :-)
Tonight, Lou and I are celebrating our anniversary, so definitely no card making tonight :-) However, I will be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
