Gnomies for Less is More challenge #409

Hi Everyone.

Happy Wednesday and greetings from a snow-filled world!

I had fun playing along with the Less is More challenge for this week - it's such an unusual challenge and really had me thinking outside the box.  This is another card for sendasmile4kids and it was a perfect opportunity to use another set from Paper Rose Studio called Gnomies.  It seems gnomes are everywhere these days and I have seen some of the cutest gnome sets ever and I love these little guys.

The most fun was paper piecing his outfit.  Cutting out his little mittens was interesting.... but there is something about fussy cutting that is very cathartic.  You absolutely cannot think about anything else, except those scissors and that little-bitty piece of paper :-)

Here's the challenge:

To make my triangle, I used my Ellen Hutson stitched borders and then placed my dapper gnomie inside the triangle, along with the sentiment.

Here's my card:

Gnomies (1 of 1)

Isn't he a cuite?  I left his black and white stockings alone and decided not to color them.  I added color to his nose, eyes and beard, and a little color to ground him.

On a personal note:

It really is a winter wonderland after the storm overnight.  As I type this, I can see the Cardinal in the snow-covered tree popping backwards and forwards to the feeder.  I just love seeing that bright pop of red.  Today is a holiday for me, so I am going to do a little housework and then go and play in my craft room.  Seems like the perfect day to get some Christmas cards finished off.

If you are traveling today to join friends and family, travel safely.  I'll be back with another card tomorrow.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
