Have a Tea-riffic Birthday for Addicted to CAS #172

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

Today is the 7th anniversary of Addicted to CAS.  Yes, 7 years!  how amazing is that!

The fabulous Vicki is our host for this challenge and the code word is... not surprisingly....

I made two different cards for this challenge... I wanted to go whimsical with one and then use one of my favorite sets for the other.

But... before we get to my cards, a I want to say a huge thank you to Kylie - the creator of Addicted to CAS.  I can still remember when I received an email from Kylie asking me if I wanted to become a member of the Addicted to CAS team.  I was SO excited.  I mean.... to join an established design team - and feature CAS cards.  How perfect was that???  So, Kylie, thank you so much for inviting me and I am not in the least bit surprised that this team is still going 7 years on.  CAS will never fall out of favor(u)r!!!!   Happy 7th birthday to Addicted to CAS.

To start with here is my whimsical card.  I used a stamp set that came with an English crafting magazine that Lou bought for me a couple of years ago when he was in Australia. I still find it interesting that an English crafting magazine was sold in Australia, bought in Australia and yet showcased on cards made in the US.  How awesome is that... our crafting community is so broad and covers so many countries - and it's a wonderful thing!

For this card, I stamped the tea pot onto some old designer paper that I had and fussy-cut around it and mounted it onto the focal layer.

Here's my card:

Tea-riffic Birthday (1 of 1)

For my second card, I went in a totally different direction.  I used one of my new favorite SU stamps called Good Morning Magnolia.

Now, I have done just about everything with this stamp, but I hadn't watercolored it.  So, decided it was time that I did just that:-)  I used my new favorite hemstitched sizzix Spellbinders Hemstitch die to create the border.  I stamped and watercolored the magnolia and added a sentiment.

Here's my card:

Good Morning Magnolia (1 of 1)-7

Honestly, this set is just amazing, regardless of what you do to it!

I hope you will join us and play along this week.  As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you - not least of which is our guest designer Lady Joyful (Charlotte)  I know you will love her wonderful polka dot design.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card - and some photos.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Two really gorgeous cards, Jaydee! I love the vintage paper that you chose for the teapot and your watercolored Magnolia is stunning! I love the border on both cards, too...so elegant!

Jaydee, these are both wonderful. The stitched die framed each of the images beautifully. Love the way the patterned paper gavee your teapot an antique look. LOVE the magnolia blossom - such a beautiful image. your watercoling is lovely!
