Good Morning Magnolia meets Golden Honey DSP for Casethissketch #351
17 December 2019
Happy Tuesday!
I saw this great sketch across at Casethissketch
I knew that I wanted to use the Good Morning Magnolia flower and pair it with my newest SU love "Golden Honey Speciality Designer Series Paper". This seriously is some of the most gorgeous DSP to come out of SU in a long time. There really is something about the gold, black and white that makes me so happy.
I began by stamping the flower and then coloring it with gold shimmer water color inks from kuretake. The only problem I had..... is that the flower naturally runs left to right and trying to turn it around to fit the half circle on the left for the sketch, made the flower look really strange. So, I hope it is OK for the casethissketch team, that I had to reverse the sketch and put it on the other side.
Here's my take on the sketch:
I tried it on a white background and it really didn't pop as much. I love the black and gold DSP against the black base. Here's a closeup of the watercolor inks. I colored the flower with the shimmer metallic paint and the inside of the flower and the leaves with normal watercolor paints.
I kept the inside pretty simple by heat embossing the smaller flower from the set in superfine gold.
Now, I have to decide what else I am going to do with this fabulous paper :-)
I'll be back with another card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a lift tonight
Hugs
