Hi Everyone. Happy Monday.
I hope you all had a great weekend! I know... I know.... it's THAT stamp set and DSP again :-) But, I promise, I just can't help myself. These little bees with their matching dies and fun paper just inspire me!
I saw this sketch across at Casethissketch
And... decided that I needed to use the honeycomb die to create some texture behind the focal image and then use a bee as the element on the sentiment. I angled the sentiment a little so that I could fit the bee in comfortably.
Here's a close-up - you can see that I used a gold glitter pen on the body of the bee and a clear gel pen to add a little interest on the veins in the wins. You can also see that I adhered the die-cut honeycomb to the card base - removing some of the inserts, but leaving other's in.
Here's my full card:
On a personal note:
I thought you might like to see a photo of a couple of our avian visitors. 3 summers ago we started out with a single male pheasant. He found himself a girlfriend that autumn. The next year we had him, his mate and two babies. They all disappeared last year, but suddenly, in December, we found a couple of them had returned. The next day there were 7 of them. Then 9 of them. Now we have 11! So, apparently we have a "bouquet" of phesant and we enjoy seeing them. Any British TV watchers out there? Typing that reminded me of "Keeping up Appearances"!
He really is so beautiful - pity it was such a dull day and that they are so skittish I have to take the photos through the backdoor and through the uprights on the deck!
I will have another card to share with you tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
