Backyard Party for Paper Players #478
16 February 2020
Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's my turn to host the Paper Players clean and simple challenge this week and it's theme week:
I decided to pull out an old set from Ellen Hutson called Backyard Party. I'm still making cards for SendaSmile4Kids, and this set is idea for that. I paired the stamped images with a background of woodgrain card stock from Altenew. I had fun coloring the images and created a balloon out of vellum.
Here's my card:
I love this little pirate...... he frequents us regularly in summer. We see much less of him during winter, but did catch him out and about this last week. Obviously, he must have been hungry to be out in such cold!
I hope you will join us and play along this week. As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
It's been bitterly cold this week - down to -32 degrees. I really have no idea how the little birds survive the extremes of temperature. They love the cypress trees we planted. They really do give them somewhere to huddle in this cold weather. One of our regular visitors has been the Opossum.... I knew he'd visited us one morning after a fresh fall of snow.....
Nothing has a back foot track like the Opossum and his little opposable toe! Heavens knows what he was doing on the deck and I wish I had been there to see him if he had encountered one of the cats!
I took this next shot after a soft, fluffy snowfall. I love the look of the lanterns and the shadow from the metal deer
I did manage to capture a shot of the deer pig-rooting under the bird feeder. Some of the birds, including the Blue Jay, scatter seed looking for a specific one on the tray table. It means that the deer, Opossum, Racoon and squirrels have something to eat.
I'll be back later with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
