Botanical Prints for Freshly Made Sketches #423
23 February 2020
Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday, again!
I saw this great sketch across at FreshlyMade and couldn't wait to play along. Mind you, I had NO idea what I was going to do. I had this image in my mind to make a snow globe card... but I am so tired of snow, I didn't even want to think about that! I then decided I could make a nice shaker card with an upside down fish bowl... but gave up that idea. In the end, I went with something totally different!
Here's the sketch:
Maybe now you can see why I had images of snow globes and upside down goldfish bowls!
I decided to play around with some of the elements from the Botanical Prints set. I just love this set. There is something about the realistic feel that really appeals to me.
I stamped three of the elements with Memento London Fog and then colored them with my Prismacolors. I die cut them and worked on the background. I used the negative space left my a circle die-cut and colored that a grey-green, blending some Altenew inks to get the background. I stamped the sentiment and added two different shades of grey card stock for the other horizontal elements. I mounted the die-cut floral pieces and the card was done.
Here's my card:
To finish the card, I used one of the little bee elements that comes with this set. I really do love these images :-)
On a personal note:
OK... it's 42 degrees here. yes, that would be 42 degrees ABOVE zero - a long way from the 27 BELOW zero from last week! It is glorious. It's bright and sunny and feels tropical! We were woken up by the Chickadee's doing their spring "see saw" call. Hearing that sweet little sound just makes me smile!
Last week we had a snow storm and it was one of those wet, sticky, storms. It does look beautiful afterwards though.
You can see where the freezing rain and wet snow had covered all the trees, bushes and grass. Contrast that to the photo I took yesterday:
The outlook isn't quite as pretty, but that blue sky and sunshine is very welcome!
We were lucky enough to have 14 of these little guys in our backyard yesterday!
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
hugs
Jaydee

Such a pretty card Jaydee and I love the way you framed the shape with those diecut botanicals. The little bee is also adorable - I wish we could buy these as a seperate embellishment without the whole kit! This is a worthy winner this week over at FMS - bravo!
