Timeless Tropical for Freshly Made and Just Add Ink
09 February 2020
Hi everyone. Happy Sunday... again :-) I promise this is the last post for today.
I played along with two challenges for this card Freshly Made - Sketch and the inspiration photo from Just Add Ink:
Looking at the photo inspiration, it was a no-brainer that I was going to ink up the trees on my Timeless Tropical set. :-)
I inked up the trees, but couldn't help adding a little extra depth with my pencils. I used my pencils in the middle of the palm trees and all the way down the trunks of them.
I also used my pencils to color the frangipani. I lightly ink blended the background with Broken China distress inks. I tried to vary the blue to ensure there was some white showing through.
Here's my card:
I used a stitched rectangle for the focal layer, but decided that I really needed a little more interest on the base layer. So, out came my favorite Hemstitch dies! I really do love how they frame everything.
On a personal note:
When Charlie and I were in my craft room yesterday, I sensed a movement and looked up. I was thrilled to see a herd of deer descending on our property. I had to take this photo through my window screen and the screen on the screened-in porch. There was no way they were going to let me go outside and take a photo. They could hear me in my craft room and every time I made a noise, they would look up and make a decision as to whether they should bolt our not!
I was lucky enough to get another photograph from the kitchen door. You can see them coming from across the wetland and exiting and entering stage left and right :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift. And Linda... happy belated birthday!
hugs
