Timeless Tropical for Freshly Made and Just Add Ink
09 February 2020
Hi everyone. Happy Sunday... again :-) I promise this is the last post for today.
I played along with two challenges for this card Freshly Made - Sketch and the inspiration photo from Just Add Ink:
Looking at the photo inspiration, it was a no-brainer that I was going to ink up the trees on my Timeless Tropical set. :-)
I inked up the trees, but couldn't help adding a little extra depth with my pencils. I used my pencils in the middle of the palm trees and all the way down the trunks of them.
I also used my pencils to color the frangipani. I lightly ink blended the background with Broken China distress inks. I tried to vary the blue to ensure there was some white showing through.
Here's my card:
I used a stitched rectangle for the focal layer, but decided that I really needed a little more interest on the base layer. So, out came my favorite Hemstitch dies! I really do love how they frame everything.
On a personal note:
When Charlie and I were in my craft room yesterday, I sensed a movement and looked up. I was thrilled to see a herd of deer descending on our property. I had to take this photo through my window screen and the screen on the screened-in porch. There was no way they were going to let me go outside and take a photo. They could hear me in my craft room and every time I made a noise, they would look up and make a decision as to whether they should bolt our not!
I was lucky enough to get another photograph from the kitchen door. You can see them coming from across the wetland and exiting and entering stage left and right :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift. And Linda... happy belated birthday!
hugs

Thanks, Cindy. Isn't it wonderful to have the deer visit! So long as they aren't eating your favorite plants :-)

Using your inks and pencils on the same image is a wonderful idea. I love how it adds depth to the centre of the trees. Chantell Just Add Ink

Thanks so much for posting the pictures of the deer. It brings back such wonderful memories of my years in Minnesota. Your card is very pretty and I love the hemstitich die. One I might have to purchase. Have a great week.
