HI Everyone.
Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and it's color week:
OK... I confess... I detest Calypso Coral and I'm not at all fond of Bermuda Bay! Consequently, I don't have those colors in my stash :-) I did the best I could to match the colors, but noticed that one of them is really showing up more blue than it does in real life. Usually when I don't like colors, I use them in small amounts. this time, I decided to embrace them and put them front and center!
I used an old set from Fun Stampers Journey that I bought years ago. It's one of those sets that I love and will never get rid of. I stamped the three shells in the colors and then made use of the "neutral rule" for the background stamp.
Here's my card:
I fussy cut the shells and then used me pencils to add a little dimension to them. I then popped them up, or adhered them, to the base. Of course, I had to use a rectangle stitched die to help frame everything.
I hope you will join us and play along with Laurie's challenge. As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you"
On a personal note:
It was in the 50s today and is going to be in the 60s tomorrow. So, the bad news is that we lose an hour... the good news is that it is going to be positively tropical! I know it's not staying in the 60s... but it will be wonderful to feel the warmth of the sun on the skin. Mind you, it does feel a little odd sun baking in 60 degree weather with snow still on the ground! :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
This card is absolutely fabulous, Jaydee! I LOVE everything about it!!! You have the perfect balance of the challenge colors popping against the white!

I had to chuckle because we all have "those" colors that just don't speak to us. For me it is Crushed Curry and Garden Green. Bleh! Love your beachy card! The colors really pop on the clean background and that starfish looks like it has a lot of dimension. So pretty!

Oh, I love every thing about this beachy card. I am so in love with your shells and starfish! WOW! They look real! The story in the background is so perfect! You would never know these colors are not in your stash. I love BB, but not CC. LOL! Fabulous card My Friend! XX

Love that you put your trio of colours front and centre Jaydee - that starfish has so much dimension! I am really taken with that background stamp - love that you can actually read the story. All in all a great card this week my friend!

Lovely card Jaydee, the shells are really pretty and I love the story in the background script. I know what you mean about certain colors or combinations thereof, but I think it's good for us to do as you did - embrace them fully and find a way to use them. And your use of them turned out beautifully!
