Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
I have a profusion of Forever Blossoms for you tonight! It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's clean and simple theme week.
Now, when you first look at my card you might be thinking, so..... where's the sparkle? There's no sparkle on that card! Well, I promise you there is - but I couldn't capture it without doing a closeup:
I used some sparkle pens that my bestie sent to me as a present to add the sparkle and shimmer. In fact, I made two cards - both using the same stamp set - but with different colors.
Here's a closeup of the second card:
I couldn't decide which one to share as my Paper Players card, but decided to go with the pink one. I stamped a shadow layer behind the focal layer with a soft pink ink. I then stamped and die-cut the blossoms and mounted them above the shadow layer. I added an Altenew Label Love sentiment and went to town with my glitter pens!
Here's my full card:
I really wish the shimmer and sparkle showed up. It does when you have it in hand, but it was impossible to capture it in this photo.
Here's the other one and, in retrospect, I think I actually prefer this one!
Which do you prefer? I'd love to hear!
I hope you will play along with our challenge this week and, even though some of the Players forgot it was clean and simple week :-) they have some gorgeous cards for you:
On a personal note:
I did get to spend about an hour in my craft room today, so I didn't get much done. I am hoping to spend a little more time in there tomorrow as there are some challenges I want to play along with. I also have to get caught up making my cards for the seniors. If the weather is nice I am hoping I might be able to capture some photos of the birds.
Even though our property backs up onto the wetland, there has been a tremendous amount of building going on for miles around us and that has absolutely negatively affected the wildlife that used to visit us so frequently. It's not just the building activity, it's the copious quantities of insecticides, weed killers, mosquito spraying, etc. that has been devastating for the insect eating birds. Consequently, there really isn't as much to photograph any more. Heck, we haven't seen a chipmunk in 3 years! We don't get any of the natural squirrels any more and we haven't seen our groundhogs in nearly 4 years. I'm hoping the when the summer birds visit us next month, I might have more opportunity to capture some photos.
One thing is for sure, I am so looking forward to seeing something green and some colors from the flowers. The leaves haven't started budding yet, but we think this week, because of the warmer weather and rain, we should start to see a faint tinge somewhere :-)
I hope you are all staying safe. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Can we just have a moment to appreciate that sparkly detail? WOW!!! Those close up's made me ooh and ahh because I can only imagine the detail in-person. I love both cards, but you already know that I'm partial to that pretty pink card. Swoon! Absolutely fabulous cards, my friend!

Gorgeous cards, Jaydee! Like everyone else, I can't choose a favorite! How can a person choose one over the other! You make the best CAS cards!!!

Jaydee, these cards are gorgeous! All the shine and shimmer is so pretty! You are the Queen of CAS card! Love the shadow effect! So sad to hear about the habitat being damaged. I miss all your beautiful visitors, too! Progress is not always a good thing! Take good care of you!

I'm so sorry to hear that your wildlife has been so affected. Can't believe you haven't seen the chipmunks or groundhogs. They were so faithful. And that was the reason you moved there. I do miss your nature photos.

Wow, these are both beautiful! Love how you incorporated the sparkle into your images! I have sparkle pens but rarely use them! And your new blog background looks amazing!

Jaydee, I really like the blue card. It seems to pop so much. Love the layout and will case that one for sure. Your glitter pens do a great job.

The close ups really show that sparkle and it looks beautiful! Both cards are lovely, Jaydee, hard to favor one over the other. Capturing sparkle is indeed the hardest things I encounter when taking my card photos. Love your wonderful CAS cards!
