Happy Sunday!
It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's clean and simple week and Ann chose a great theme for us:
On a personal note:
It's been raining for the last 12 hours, which is fabulous. All we need now is some temps above 60 and the garden should start to flourish. Our summer visitors have returned and it is wonderful to hear the sounds of the orioles, catbirds, grosbeaks, wrens and warblers. The orioles starting asking for food at 05.40 this morning!
The temps got to 28 degrees at the beginning of the week, so we had to cover our freshly planted herbs. When we took the cover off - we noticed that Martha (the racoon) had obviously been to visit and had walked right over the top of the tarp that we put down. Here's a little racoon art :-)
One of our regular visitors over the last couple of weeks has been the pileated woodpecker drinking from the water bowl on the deck. I'm sorry I couldn't get a better shot - but she was really skittish and I had to take it through the screen door
They really are amazing birds. We love having them visit us! I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Thanks, Mary. Yeah, we've been lucky to see them raise a couple of babies over the years. They are such fun to watch.

Thanks, Claire. They really are enormous and I love the sounds that the pileated make when they come in to land. They always land on the trunk of one of the Ash trees and then make a beeline for a bird house that is on the tree. The knock they heck out of it before moving to the feeder. The sound really carries through the garden!

Thanks, Stef. I love the Oregon coast and totally get sentiment about lighthouses. they do convey that feeling of protection and safety, but there is a mystery about them, too.

Thanks, LeAnne. We have had the female visit several times over the past couple of weeks. she looks so awkward jumping along the deck railing. The funniest thing is how the cats do everything to pretend they haven't seen her!

Thanks, Laurie. I must admit, I can't remember how long ago I transitioned to CAS cards, but I do love creating them!

Thanks, Joanne. I love this set as it is so flexible. It works for vintage, CAS, layers and DSP - whatever. I think it's one of those sets that will be in my stash long after it retires!

Lovely CAS card with a set I don't use enough! And your pileated is AMAZING! I have only seen them close to my house a few times and never at a bird bath! Very cool!

Growing up near the Oregon coast and vacationing there nearly every year of my life made your card so meaningful. The lighthouse has always been a symbol of strength and safety, and your CAS card really conveys that.
As always, thanks for sharing your wildlife photo, it was great to see the woodpecker and know your other normal visitors are back again this year!

Enjoy the warmer days! Have a wonderful week!
