Happy Tuesday! I have a quick post for you today, showcasing one of my favorite sets from Altenew - Enchanted Iris. Iris were one of my Mom's favorite flowers and I always love it when they come up in our woodland every spring. Here's a quick view of what some of them looked like this spring. Here's the challenge across at Color Dare. I stamped and colored the Iris. Green for the leaves, blue for the shading behind the flowers and light purple for the flowers. I also added some yellow-green into the middle of the flowers. To create some... Read more →

Happy Monday! I needed a sympathy card for a friend. His wife died suddenly last Friday. I always find sympathy cards tough, but I saw this inspiration across at Just Us Girls and I was inspired to create a sympathy card. The two of them live(d) in Sedona and, although the photo has tropical elements, I thought of the sunsets down in Arizona. The Stampin' Up! set - Timeless Tropical was perfect for this challenge. I started my card by using multiple inks blended to create the sunset background. I normally blend like crazy, but noticed that the photo isn't... Read more →

Happy Sunday - again! If you are looking for my Paper Players card, you can find it here. For the great sketch across at Atlantic Hearts I used some retired DSP and stamped and colored the hibiscus flower and leaves from the Stampin' Up! Timeless Tropical set. I stamped and colored the flower and leaves with Copic markers and did very little for shading as I wanted to just... Read more →

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and it's sketch week. I did make a card using Game On, but I just wasn't happy with it. So, in the end, I decided to showcase some of the fabulous DSP from the new Stampin' Up! catalog called Whale of a Time. I love the bright colors in this paper. I added a sentiment from Whale Done. Here's the sketch: I used a couple of different pieces from the DSP and cut them to match the sketch. Of course, I couldn't help but... Read more →

Happy Saturday! I have a card featuring my favorite Stampin' Up! set - Prized Peony. There is something about this set that just works for me. I feel a little like Goldilocks... the flower isn't too big (like Good Morning Magnolia - although I love it) and it isn't too small. It's just right :-) For today's card I was inspired by the challenges across at Festive Friday and AAA cards I chose CAS design, single image and floral theme. I began by stamping the image off the bottom left corner of a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# paper.... Read more →
