Whale Done for Atlantic Hearts Challenge #372
08 June 2020
Hi Everyone. Happy Monday - again! This is my second post for the day. When I checked out the new sketch at Atlantic Hearts I immediately had this image in my head using Whale Done - from the new Stampin' Up! 2020-2021 catalog. I couldn't wait to go and try it out.
Before I get to my card, I really did want to give a shout-out to the team at AHS. Their sketches always challenge me - in a good way - and make me think outside my square box! Also, their support of my creativity since I "discovered" their challenge site has been such a motivation for me. So, thank you!
Now, on to my card. I LOVE the DSP in the Whale of a Time set, it is so beautifully rendered and I had originally intended to use a piece of it to create my "sea bottom" scene. In the end, I decided to do it with the stamps from the Whale Done set and add additional shading and color with my Copics. I blended the "sea" with Pool Party ink making sure that I left the top left corner and a little diagonal much, much, paler - to mimic sunlight coming in. I then fussy cut two of the turtles from the DSP and adhered them to my scene. I added some silver bubbles, a sentiment, and the card was complete. Here's a closeup:
And here's my full card:
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
