Whale of a Time for Paper Players #497

Happy Sunday.  It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and it's sketch week.  I did make a card using Game On, but I just wasn't happy with it.  So, in the end, I decided to showcase some of the fabulous DSP from the new Stampin' Up! catalog called Whale of a Time.  I love the bright colors in this paper.  I added a sentiment from Whale Done.  Here's the sketch:

I used a couple of different pieces from the DSP and cut them to match the sketch.  Of course, I couldn't help but fussy cut a couple of the turtles from another piece of the DSP. Here's my card:

Whale of a Time (1 of 1)

Aren't those papers wonderful?  I really love the bright colors and the fact that you can fussy cut turtles, fish and whales from the DSP means that I have used the stamp set less than I normally would.

The design team have some fabulous inspiration for you and I hope you will join us and play along this week.

On a personal note:

It's officially summer and it's officially hot!  We have managed to sit outside a couple of times this week and have been blessed to have only been bitten by a couple of mosquitoes :-)  The flowers are about to pop everywhere in our garden and it's so exciting waiting to see what will come back from last year.  I did manage to get a few shots of the visitors to our feeders.

Today, I will share a photo of one of my favorite visitors.  This lady was looking for a drink!  I got this shot just as she was swallowing.  She has visited us several times this week and we always feel the same sense of wonder when we see them.

I also captured a shot of this lady visiting our feeder.  A female Grosbeak.

I'll be back later with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

Beautiful card with that yummy paper, Jaydee! I love that you don't really even need the stamp set because those turtles look fantastic!

Wonderful Card! Going to have to do some turtle fussing cutting - that little guy looking out of the card is awesome! LOVE your shot of the Pileated Woodpecker!!They're so stinkin' cool! We had a pair build a nest a few years back and have BABIES - not twenty feet from the house! To see their little heads poking out was...AMAZING! :)

What a fabulous card to showcase that DSP, Jaydee! I also love how you fussy cut the turtles. It's always such a joy to see all of the visitors in your yard. They make me smile and these two are particularly gorgeous with their markings. Hope you had a great week, my friend!
