Merry Moose and Stitched Leaves Die for Paper Players #500
19 July 2020
Happy Sunday.
It is my absolute honor to host our Paper Players 500th challenge. Yes, that really is five hundredth challenge. It's also Clean and Simple week and I am showcasing the Merry Moose and the gorgeous Stitched Leaves Dies (both in the new fall/winter mini catalog).
The challenge is celebrate and you can celebrate anything you like for our challenge: birthdays, anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvah, friendship, Christmas - whatever it is you want to celebrate - we want to see your creations.
Before I share my card for tonight's challenge, I thought it might be fun to share the card that I made for the first ever Paper Players challenge in June 2010. Looking back - playing with inchies was fun. But I would never use that color combo in my crafting today and the fact that the ribbon isn't straight drives me cray cray. However, it is fun going back and looking at very old cards. This one being 10 years 1 month and 9 days old!!!!!!!
For tonight's card, I was inspired by the CAS challenge at Less is More
I can't resist a one layer card challenge - and another one for Christmas in July. For tonight's card I opened up a new stamp set (new to me that is) Merry Moose and paired it with a fabulous die that comes with the Stitched Leaves Die. I can see that this die is going to get lots of love. I added a scarf and some white dots to it. I thought it fit the sentiment :-)
As usual the design team have some fabulous inspiration cards for you. I hope that you will join us and play along and show us what/who you are celebrating!
On a personal note:
OK... confession time! I am the "queen of CAS" (as decided by my very talented team mate, Ann) at the Paper Players and this is my challenge and it's CAS week. What did I do? I originally made two cards for this challenge and it was only when I went to add my card that I remembered it was CAS week. Neither of them fit, as they were ANYTHING but CAS. So, I had to go rushing off to find inspiration and create another card quickly. However, my card making was interrupted by a tremendous storm and a tornado warning. So it was a case of rounding up Lou and all the cats - who were in different parts of the house hiding as the thunder was SO bad. Well, the cats were hiding - Lou wasn't. What was Lou doing in the thunder and lightning? He was on the deck, knife in hand, taking painter's tape off the iron uprights of the deck. Mmmmm... let me think about that - metal knife, metal railings - lightning????? What's wrong with THAT picture :-)
I have the winner of the blog candy to announce tomorrow. So, I hope you will stop by. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
Card recipe:
- Stamps: Merry Moose - Stampin' Up! - available August 4 2020
- Dies: Stitched Leaves Dies - Stampin' Up! - available August 4 2020
- Card stock: Neenah Solar White 110#
There is a lot to unpack here. Lou with the knife on the deck in the storm. I have a visual. I can only imagine your reaction. Haha! Glad you, Lou and the cats are safe though. You truly are the CAS Queen, so it was fitting that you would be hosting this milestone challenge. I'm so happy to be part of this amazing team and to have you as a friend. Big, HUGE hugs sent your way!

Jaydee, what a fabulous challenge for #500! I love crafting with you and I am honored to be on the team! You are the QUEEN of CAS and I have to agree with Ann, it is so difficult for me. You make it look so easy. I always want to add one more "thing"! I love this little moose and that die is just fabulous! He looks ready for a cold winter night!
Stay well, My Friend!
