Happy Sunday - again :-)
I was in a clean and simple frame of mind in my craft cave yesterday. Usually when I play along with the Atlantic Hearts challenges I bring out my DSP, but for this one I decided to go really CAS.
I needed a masculine birthday card and pulled out one of my favorite masculine sets - Sailing Home from Stampin' Up! I stamped and colored the lighthouse and then die-cut it. I die-cut a rectangle and used my blending brush with Pool Party ink for the background and stamped some of the seagulls in Smoky Slate. I mounted the die-cut lighthouse, added a sentiment and mounted the focal layer onto the card base with fun foam. For the diagonal layers, I used my Ellen Hutson stitched dies and added them on either side of the corner. Here's my card:
The design team and challenge players have some fabulous inspiration for you. I hope you will check them out. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

wow! I was just working with a very similar lighthouse last night. Thanks for the ideas. I actually have this set, but chose to use another. But my coloring was awful, I had to pitch it. Yours is perfect! thank you so much for sharing with us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge. good luck!

Your coloring, Jaydee, is awesome as always. The lighthouse certainly makes a wonderful masculine card. Enjoy your day!

Oh, I love this! The little stitched detail in the corners is a great way to interpret this sketch. The lighthouse is awesome! Thanks for sharing with us at Atlantic Hearts :)
