Stitched Leaves Dies and Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP for AtlanticHearts and blog candy winner
19 July 2020
Happy Sunday.
I have pleasure in announcing the winner of the blog candy from this post. I also have a card to share with you featuring the Stitched Leaves Dies and the new Gilded Autumn Speciality DSP that is available from Stampin' Up! on August 3. If you want to skip the challenge and the card - and go straight to the winner of the blog candy..... go all the way to the bottom of this post :-)
Here's the sketch across at AtlanticHearts
I love this new Gilded Autumn Paper and I mixed it with some of the metallic card stock. I die cut the leaf out of a piece of the card stock and used pieces to back my sentiment and focal layer. Here's my card:
On a personal note:
Well, last night's storm was quite something. It went on for ages and the thunder was incredibly loud. It wasn't rolling thunder it was just really loud claps that rumbled afterwards. Really odd. Then came the lightning and then came the swirling green clouds. We were under a tornado warning for more than an hour and a severe thunderstorm warning for nearly 7 hours. Luckily we didn't get the 2" hail and strong winds. One of the great things about the storm was that the temps dropped dramatically and the humidity has dropped, too. We have been in the upper 90s with really high humidity, pushing the heat index up to the 105-109 mark. much too humid for me. But this morning, I am sitting out on the deck, under the umbrella, there is a cool breeze and it is gorgeous.
Now.... what was wrong with the elf card? Yep.... the whole image was supposed to be upside down. He's really cute hanging upside down - the way he was meant to be. You were all on the ball on this one. I put everyone's names onto bits of paper, crumpled them up and then had Lou dig a piece of paper out of the bowl. Drum roll, please... the winner of the blog candy is
DIANE
Diane, please can you email me your snail mail address and I will post your blog candy off to you. Thanks to everyone for playing along with my Christmas in July blooper blog candy fun!
Before I go, here's a photo of what has been visiting the feeder this week. This guy is almost impossible to capture on camera, he never seems to stop moving. I caught this shot of him playing hide and seek:
A couple of minutes later I was able to capture him playing hide and seek from the other angle!
We have been lucky enough to have a pair nesting in our cypress trees this year and we have had the pleasure of watching them feed their young. They really are fabulous birds and their bright shot of rust amongst the trees is gorgeous. You can find more about these birds here. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
