Happy Monday.
I have a very quick post for you today. I did get into my crafting cave for a couple of hours yesterday. One of the cards I made is for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week and I was inspired to use my Detailed Doves Dies from the new Stampin' Up! mini catalog. I love these dies and this will be one of the Christmas cards I make to send out this year. You can see that I had to flip the sketch to make it work for the dies.
Die cutting and assembling the elements of the dove are so easy. I glued the back wings to the base and then popped the dove just slightly. I adhered the lacy wings to the front and added some foam tape to a couple of areas. This ensures that the wings should stay raised even going thru the post. The sentiment is from Penny Black and I love the scripty font.
Here's my card:
You can see that I used my blending brushes and some Pool Party ink behind the dove. I wanted it to pop from the background, but not have the top of the card all blue. I like the soft background :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee

That dove is beautiful and I would like to learn how to do the background. It is always the season of love and peace; at least, it is what I wish you.

This is gorgeous! I love how you shaded the sky behind that crisp white dove. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
