Forever Fern for Paper Players #508

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week.  I used Stampin' Up! Forever Fern as the main focus of my card.  What colors does Anne Marie have for us?

Mmmmmm...... looks like I missed something from the challenge!  I didn't notice the PLUS GLITTER OR FOIL until I moved the badge across!  ugh!  it would have been so easy to add a foil leave or a touch of glitter pen.  How on earth did I miss that?  Sorry, Anne Marie!

I must admit that when I first saw these colors I was a little scared.  However, once I pulled them out and put them onto my crafting table I realized how gorgeous and rich they were - royal colors.  I decided to make Cajun Craze the foremost color and add the other two as accents.  It was also an excuse to pull out my Nested Labels dies and my brick embossing folder.

Here's a closeup of the colors and the texture from the embossing folder:

Aren't eh colors fabulous together?  Here's the full card:

I paired the Forever Fern set with the Happiest of Birthdays set.  I used one of the sentiments for the outside and the largest one for the inside.  Here's the inside:

I used yet another one for the envelope.  Here's a look at the card with the envelope.

So, thanks Anne Marie for taking me out of my comfort zone and making me fall in love with these colors.  I am so sorry I didn't add foil or glitter.  A couple of foil gold leaves would have been a fabulous addition.  I couldn't go back and fix it as this card is already in the post!

I will be back later with another two cards.... but before I go I wanted to share another photo of our deck - this time taken from the other side.  You can see we still don't have the dining table and chairs set up yet!!!!  That empty space is just waiting for us to do that.

Deck2

The bird bath on the deck railing gets lots of use during all seasons.  From late fall to spring it is heated and the birds visit us to drink and to bath.  The blue jays empty half the bath when they visit.  You can always hear it is them from the amount of water they splash around!

I'll be back later.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

I love this card design Jaydee and the way in which you balanced the challenge colors. Those leaf die cuts are so lovely and it all comes together for a beautiful birthday card (lucky Joanne!)! Totally gorgeous!

Great take on the color challenge! I don't know what was so hard to see about the glitter or foil....but I totally missed it too! I went back in and added some bling to compensate!

Jaydee, this is lovely! The die cut images really pop on the Cajun Craze embossed background. I'm sure there is a spot of glitter on there somewhere picked up from your desk, it's all good. Wow! Look at that deck! What a fantastic space to enjoy your beautiful yard! Bug hugs!

Marina . . . from far Africa!!!

Love it!!! The deck looks so inviting.

I can absolutely testify this card is as beautiful in real life as in the photo, if not more so - the colours are so vibrant and the brick texture makes for a fabulous background. I love it - thank you! You will be pleased to know it also prompted me to buy that sentiment stamp in the 15% stamp sale this week - thanks for being an enabler Jaydee!!
