Happy Sunday!
It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a wonderful color scheme for us:
These are such gorgeous fall colors and I decided to use my Forever Fern set to create a wreath. I used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow for the leaves. I don't have Cinnamon Cider, so I used the closest color I had and created little dots with the head of my stylus all around the wreath.
Here's a closeup:
Aren't these colors gorgeous together?
I decided to add some interest to the base of the card and ran by vanilla card stock through my Big Shot with my bricks embossing folder and love the texture that it adds. It was a little tough stamping the sentiment though!
I took a circle die-cut that I had and used that to help guide the circle for my wreath. I adhered the leaves together with some wet glue and set it aside for a couple of minutes to thoroughly dry. I then added some foam dots underneath the wreath and added it to the card base.
Here's my full card:
I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Thank you to all of you who left comments or sent messages wishing me well after my fall. I really do appreciate it :-) I am still a little battered and bruised, and have a few muscles that still twinge when I try to lift my arms. However, I am going to try and get into my craft room and make some cards today. It's a chill autumn day and the fall colors are looking magnificent. I'm hoping that the sun stays shining so I can get out and take some photos.
In recognition of the change of seasons, Lou replaced the curtains and the light aqua curtains of spring and summer have transformed to the deep cardinal red of fall and winter. The entrance lobby carpet has also changed as have the pillows on the couch and the dining table setting. The house is starting to feel warm and cozy, perfect for the cooler nights. Mind you, we did celebrate our anniversary on Thursday and ate dinner outside on the deck. It was 83 degrees at 6.30 in the evening and it was truly glorious - and very unusual to be able to eat out on the deck so late in the year. We are usually away for our anniversary, so it felt odd to work all day. However, there was something truly wonderful about just sitting and enjoying our home, our glorious view and each other's company. :-)
Hopefully..... I will be back tomorrow with a card and some photographs. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today. Also, in honor of my Mother, I would like to recognize that yesterday was World Mental Health day. I don't know about you, but this year has certainly taken it's toll on my mental health and I have had to make concerted efforts to take time to focus on the things that make me happy: Long bubble baths, binge watching fun shows, taking walks in the wetland at lunchtime, watching the antics of the birds and animals in the garden, cuddling and playing with the cats, tracing my family history through the mystery of time, cooking and having candle lit dinners with Lou and, when I can, making cards to send to someone else to brighten their day. I hope you are able to take time today to do what makes YOU happy.
Hugs
Jaydee

Thanks, Joanne. I really didn't know how to incorporate the Cider, so adding the dots was the only thing I could think of. It does add a little something to help ground the wreath though... I think :-)

Soooooooo sorry I did not leave a get well message, but I did for your anniversary . . . I hope the latter made you forget a little bit the pain!! Loved your message about doing thins we love doing . . . me, is being with Fayçal, cooking, the garden -- I work two hours every day; the garden is huge and I love it. The other day the gardener told me: "Madame, I hope that in the other life you will have a garden!!" . . . it was so thoughtful!!! Yesterday it rained a little bit; so this morning I was removing weeds! Wish you and Lou enough of everything!

I love this colorful wreath. Our leaves in Delaware haven't changed much, so your card reminded me of what they will look like soon. So sorry about your fall. I'm sending healing hugs your way. Take care. Enjoy your day!
