Happy Saturday.
I have a card that was inspired by the challenge across at Inkspirational. It was a great excuse to use my new The Greetery Postal Frames die. I am in love with these days. I paired it with the treats from the Hug in a Mug Sweet Treats - also from The Greetery. The finishing touches were the little sweet elements that are part of the Hug in a Mug treats. I haven't had the chance to use the Hug in a Mug set yet, but I will this coming week as I am on vacation!
Here's the challenge across at Inkspirational:
I die-cut three of cookies using the dies and die cut them again on glitter paper so that I could get the "sugary bits" for the cookies. I adhered the three pieces together (base of the cookie, top of the cookie and the sugary bit) and then placed them on my postcard frame die. I used two of the sentiment stamps from the Hug in a Mug set and then added the little finishing touches. They were all adhered to the postcard frame that was cut from some old Stampin' Up! Naturals card stock.
Here's a closeup of these really cute little elements. You can see the little pink heart and at the bottom the peppermint candy. Aren't they the cutest!!!
Here's my full card:
You will have noticed that I used the larger postal frames die and cut that from some gold card stock from Stampin' Up! that I have had in my collection for years! I added a little candy cane next to the sentiment as the finishing touch!
On a personal note:
I'm sorry that I haven't been updating my blog regularly the last couple of weeks. There has been so much going on both at home and at work and it's been pretty exhausting. We knew another lay-off was coming and I had suspected they would do it this month so that they could get the thousands of people affected off the books by the end of December. Sure enough - they announced it on Thursday and Friday. Right before everyone was going off for Thanksgiving. I'm lucky to not have been affected this go round and that's purely because the part of the business that I work in is being made into a separate business mid-next year. That means our division will have lay-offs around the middle of the year. It's the second major round of lay-offs this year, but it's good to know that our executives got their multi-multi-million dollar bonuses. So many wonderful people are now without jobs in the middle of a pandemic. I don't know about all of you, but this year has really drained me. I try to help as many organizations as I can and emotionally support those that I can. But it is so little in the overall scheme of things.
I'm off work this next week and will be creating more cards for seniors, hospitalized kids, military families, etc. It gives me a great excuse to escape to my craft room - do something I love doing - and hopefully, bring a smile to someone when they receive the card. So, I will have cards to share with you this week. I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers to all of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Diane, you are so right. It has been a tough year and so few have not been affected by it. I know when I first heard about it back in February that I would never have anticipated the sheer damage and toll that it has taken - even when we were told it could. It's times like this that really do make you grateful for so many things.....
have a wonderful week
hugs

What a cute card! I love the Christmas cookie theme and the addition of the glitter really adds a lot of interest! Thanks for playing with us at Inkspirational!
Also, so sorry to hear about your business and the layoffs. Such a difficult year.

I’m sure everything you do is much appreciated. At least you are doing something. I’m also certain that the execs will be giving many thanks as they sit down and tuck into their Thanksgiving dinner!
It’s true what they say in England - the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
This year has been extremely difficult all over the world for the majority of people.
Let’s hope that everyone truly appreciates what they have.
Happy Thanksgiving and keep doing what you’re doing, if everyone did something, however little they think it is, it means a big thing for someone else.
