Happy Saturday and a belated Merry Christmas to all. Lou and I both hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend time with your loved ones - albeit remote for many of us! I had meant to share this card with you yesterday, but when I scheduled it to publish I scheduled it for the wrong date!
I created multiples of these cards for our personal Christmas cards this year. I mixed some of my new The Greetery goodies - Hoop Wreath Stamp Set and the Hoop Wreath die with a favorite die from Stampin' Up! from the Love of Leaves die set. I love the waterfall effect from the die and ran it through my Big Shot twice - so that I could get the effect at the top and bottom of the card.
The rest of the card was very easy to put together, especially as I had some left over silver mirror card stock that I could use to create the hoop for the wreath. The flowers were stamped, die-cut and then mounted to the base. Here's my card:
Here's a closeup of the stitched die from the Love of Leaves set on the base of the card as well as a look at the envelope. I used the same wreath foliage stamp for my envelope as I used for the front of the card.
I used a freebie stamp that came with my last order from The Greetery for the inside of my card and kept it very simple.
On a personal note:
Well, I have no idea where this week went. Well, I do. Trying to get everything finished up at work by end of day last Friday took some long hours and lots of patience! However, it did mean that I could take two weeks off work and spend time relaxing and recovering from what has been a crazy year. I did lots of chores around the house and then finished up the decorating. It was a pretty busy week - but so relaxing. Lou and I are usually away on holidays for Christmas and this is the first time that we have been home in a very long time. So, I took advantage of that and went to town on decorating the house. Mind you "gone to town" is a relative term. For many, our decorations would seem sparse, but they really are much more than we have done in previous years.
I also spent time crafting this past week. I made decorations and painted Mason Jars, arranged florals and we finished decorating the outside tree. All that was left to do was order presents for Lou and order the food for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas lunch.
We were really worried that we would have a brown Christmas. I mean, what's the use of living in Minnesota if you can't have a white Christmas? Luckily, we had 9 inches of snow between the 23rd and 24th - so the world looked beautiful on Christmas morning. It was a very bright, sunny day with clear blue skies and the snow was sparkling. We cooked up our meals and looked out at the glorious sight of all that wonderful, crisp, white snow!
It felt good to sit back and appreciate the little things and be grateful for what we have and are able to enjoy this holiday season. One of the things I have to be grateful for is YOU - all my wonderful blog readers - I am really grateful for all of you.
I'll be back in a couple of days with another card. In the meantime, very warm hugs and prayers for all of you - especially those who need a little lift today.
Hugs
Jaydee
